Katty and Steve have been together since secondary school times. The couple been through university together. When they finally graduate, Steve proposed to Katty with the ring Katty was interested in buying. However, He was rejected.
Although their relationship have been stable and lasting, Katty is not mentally prepared for marriage. One day, while they were walking in the park, Katty turned to Steve and said, "Steve, we're still young. I want to see the world before making any serious committement. I promise, the day I'm ready for it, I will find you."
And with that, Katty went overseas to further her studies. All these while, She focus on her career, and even made a name for herself. Through the years, Steve had achievements too. A stable and good paying job. Katty had not forgotten Steve. She finally thinks that she's ready, and she decided to phone Steve.
They met at the park once again, the place where they had gone their seperate ways years ago.
Katty looked at the familiar figure. Steve had not changed much. His hair, choice of clothes and smile. Everything's the same. "How are you Steve?", she began. "Can't be better. I just got promoted a few months ago. You? I heard you've been doing very well." said Steve.
"Yes, seen and learnt alot all these years." answered Katty. "Hmm.. Are you with anyone now?", she continued. Steve looked at Katty, and lied, "Yes, I'm attached." In an instant Katty felt disappointed. Steve looked away for a moment, then smiled and asked, "Katty, what about you?" Katty smiled and said yes too, for the sake of her pride. That day, Steve drove Katty home. He remembered that in the past when he did not own a car, and had to take the bus to sent her home.
Another couple of years passed. Katty really did had a new boyfriend. On her wedding day, she invited Steve and her old classmates. Steve looked at the bride, heartbroken. Nevertheless, He gave them his blessing. Many months later, Katty gave birth, and Steve gotten married too.
A good friend of Katty and Steve knew that both of them still have feelings for each other. She told Katty that Steve have been waiting for her ever since the day she left him. He did not date any other girls, because He had never gave up his love for Katty. But He finally gave up on the day of her child's first month celebration.
Unfortunately, all was just too late. Pride destroy what could have been, Katty and Steve's loving marriage.
