Re: Malaysia

You can try going to JB, City Square or Jusco.

Take MRT to Kranji, take CW Link (Yellow) Bus to the checkpoint, abt $0.90 (i think) and RM0.90 when coming back.

From the checkpoint, u just haf to walk for abt 10 mins, and u r at City Square.

U can watch movie there, the cinema is operated by Cathay and the ticket prices are so much cheaper, RM10.00. The last time i when, they had a promotion for payment made with any Citibank cards (Buy 1 get 1 free).

For gals, u can get manicure and pedicure done at Jean Yip, abt RM15.00.

U can go to the Factory Outlet for some cheap clothing, spend some time there and u will b able to find some great deals Alternatively, Padini Concept store at level 1 is also a gd place to shop. There are brands like Vinci (ladies' shoes) Seed and Padini that offers causal and formal clothes.

U can take taxi from City Square to Holiday Plaza or Jusco. Jusco is further away but try to haggle the price with the taxi driver (abt RM15.00).

Pizza Hut at Jusco is cheap. My frens and i, 3 person only spent abt RM45.00 for a hearty meal. The rest of shopping there is similar to Singapore. There are MANGO, Guess, Warehouse, Body Shop, Sasa, Watson etc. No Zara however.

The supermarket is ok, but dun go to their mac or starbucks, quite ex.

Re: Malaysia

as mentioned above, you can go to Citisquare for a walk, there's a newly opened Danga Mall about 5 to 10 mins by cab, can try to go there. for further down, you can take a cab to go to Masai Giant, or Tebrau City or Carrefour. Masai is about half an hr by cab, Tebrau City also. Carrefour is about 15 to 20 mins away.

Don't go to HOliday plaza, nothing much there.

Thanks to this site, I had a great time in JB with the travelling info posted here.

However here is an update on the following.

UPDATE: Cathay at Citysquare no longer offer the Citibank Clearcard promotion to "foreigner", only application to Malaysian card holders only.

Ridiculous! I found this out when I was purchasing tickets. I told them that there was no information pertaining to such policy but I was given the buy your tickets or get lost attitude! They said, this has change since October!
Anyone else encounter this?

Re: Malaysia

Hmm .. since like almost all of us go to e same places in JB hor .. ??

Holiday Plaza is really nothing however it's my favourite place if you're interested in pirated gaming stuff/bags/shirts ..

Jusco - good place to shop but nothing much .. however the restaurants there are cheap ..

Plengi Plaza (plant-gi) (sp error) : Nothing much .. but can kill some time

City Square ...

That's all .. I normally go if I go JB lorx .. I think these are the only places to shop in JB ?

Re: Malaysia

JUSCO aka Tebrau City (must go!)
This shopping centre looks the "safest" to me, compared to others such as Pelangi. Maybe because it's newer and it's quite happening as well.
Cheap food, sometimes you can find cheap clothes on sale. I like this store: Padini. They always have sale, sometimes up to 70% off! But JB's Mango stuff seems to be more ex than Singapore's store, even on sale.

WATCH A MOVIE TOO!
RM11, which is pretty cheap, about 4-5 Sing bucks? I've been there a few times, and the theater is kinda new and doesn't have the smelly smelly fungi odor which some of the theater in Spore has.

FOOD
Secret Recipe, their food is cheaper than S'pore's I think. But I think their food is mediocre, still worth a try. Must try their cakes too, esp if you like cheesecakes!
Vivo: I love love love their food, it's good and not very ex. They have a few cakes too, not bad, but I prefer Secret Recipe's
Green Tea Ice Cream : You can find this at the highest floor(I forgot it's 3rd or 4th already) So so niceeeee
