Modelling Scam..Girls Beware - SGClub Forums

I was walking in City hall MRT when this girl approached me and offered me an interview for an ad agency called BH Industries which is located at Takashimaya..As I am new in Singapore..I asked my friend where Takashimaya is located and she said that if its in Takashimaya then it is a real thing...After like 2 hours someone called me up and asked me if i am available for an interview...Out of curiosity I said YES..

Next day I went to their office level 13-09 of Takashimaya tower B...I saw bunch of pretty girls lined up for interview..When i got in the room a pretty lady started telling me about what they are offering:

1. Training ang grooming for potential candidates which cost 2,000 SGD
2. Modelling opportunies for reputable companies.
3. Only 10 out of 200 girls per week gets into the training which is shouldered by them

They also showed me a thick file which shows the receipt they paid to they models..and some pictures..

I was flattered when she asked me to sign for the free training course because only 10 out of 200 gets in.

The conditions are...I have to attend all 5 days training...done every sunday..for 1 hour...if i am unable to attend I would be liable to pay 2,000 sgd which according to them goes to a charity..Next is that i must have my own shoes..and make up..for make up they require SHADES BEVERLY HILLS and can only be bought to them from their supplier in the USA around 350 -550 SGD..SO stupid, I signed the contract..

When I got home ..I searched the internet for the make up brand and found several blogs stating that BHI is a scam...I am posting the sites so that people will be aware of their tactics..BHI has been scammin for almost 4 years and yet no one is trying to voice it out..

even if its located at taka . its not
real too . my girlfren went to one which
is at the office at taka building .
i think its on the 11 or 12 storey .
it was also a scam .
*dont be cheated . cos model agency do
not stay at places such as the mrt
stations to look for new talents (:

normally they need u to pay some fees

only join well-known and established ones like elite etc

yeah..it was like they were hypnotizing or something..i read those links above and the same thing happend to them..it has been around since 2003..how come they still exist..

girls still do have dreams to become

In every business, it's the same. Big companies will never put ppl out on the streets trying to spot 'talents'.

Simple as that.

Modelling can be very tempting. However, it's not easy to get into it. Like many had already mentioned, if the company is well-known or reputable, they need not hire employees to station in MRT/streets to spot their so-called 'talents'. Next, such well-known or reputable modelling companies would pay you to be their models, instead of you forking out your own money to be their model.

It's obviously a scam. Whether it's located in Takashimaya or those ulu places, it's still a scam.

I was spotted by these 'scammers' quite a few times in town. Out of curiousity, the 1st (or was it 2nd time) I was spotted, I went down to their company to hear what they had got to say.

As usual, here was what they told/introduced to me:

Showed me their portfolios and introducing to me that their company was newly established and still spotting out for new talents.
Explained to me that I can either be a model for photography or for stage (cat-walk).
I need to pay a few hundreds (can't remember how much) to take the photoshoots as my personal portfolio so that my 'clients' can see.
I can only choose to take about 2 photos home (from my portfolio).
I was to pay a deposit of $50 first.
& etc.

I was naive and am dreaming to be a model, so I gave them my $50.

Cos I wanted to try it out, even tho' I know it was a scam. I even told myself that I'll just treat it as a makeover shoot.

Whatever it was, in the end I decided to get conned for my $50 than having to pay them for a few hundreds more.

They did contact me for MANY times a day for a few months until I picked up my phone and told them that I'm no longer interested. They still persuade me tho', but I wasn't tempted. The funniest thing was, despite me avoiding their calls, they can call me up many times a day for a few months just to get thru' to me to earn my $$.

The 'package' they offered was more like a makeover shoot to me than asking me to be a model. Why? First thing was: they did not check my height nor anything to prove that I am eligible to be a model. They just explained to me that what their company was about, and that was it - I got to pay $.

I believe well-known/reputable modeling companies would take a good look at you, give you an interview and stuffs like that before they decide to hire you or not.

I've had my lesson learnt!:devil2:

hahaha yup modeling is never easy.
Oh my cousin one Is a pass thing but i forgot.. Now she is working with her mother ^^ She a good model =) to me that is.
My friend one is in a company called glass ball I think which she say she love there alot ^^
Many will think in their young age that modeling is a good job since when you are pretty you got in, thats why there are many scams now

BHI so call "talent scouts" are all over orchard. I have been approached before too and it's just a total scam. There has been reports about girls who dun even get enuff assignments to cover for the cost they paid before that.

Girls now are gullble XD Because now many thinks they are pretty and they will just go ahead with modeling XD my mistake too
