WORK is getting in the way of family time for more people in Singapore, according to data from a national survey.

Over half or 55 per cent of respondents in 2013 said their work demands ate into their family time more than they liked, up from 47 per cent in 2009.

Re: More unhappy with work-life balance here, says survey

Work life balance is not about giving a few days off a year or early off to eat home. It is a lifestyle that your practise over time.

Many people claim they work late and are very busy. But tell them to attend a lunch celebration, you see them there the wheel afternoon. What happen to 'busy?

The culture of clocking hours are still very much in bedded here. Do they know security officers work more than 24 hours a day? They are the most effiencent and hardworking if that is your measurement.

i think singapore people are mostly stressful and competitive..very hard to find a chill and relax life for ourselves in such a society.

We must learn not to compare. Good to advance but trying too hard may not be the best all the time. Being 2nd or 3rd can be better too.
