Hi to all movie buffs, I plan to set up a new team called the 'MOVIE CRITIC TEAM'. Those who are admitted to this team will be recognized as a good reviewer of movies, both fair and useful. However, in order to make this team, you will need to periodically write a short review of movies that you have watched.
For a start, I will start a separate section solely for movie reviews that only the TEAM can post, so it will be a library of movie reviews. No discussions are allowed on these threads. All discussions can be done in the main section of the Movies forums. Some requirements for members to become part of this team:
- Relatively good english and good at writing. Cannot be writing reviews in broken english or stuff that ppl cannot understand right?
- Like watching latest movies and watch them regularly. Cannot write reviews if you don't watch right?
- Enjoy discussing movies and sharing your thoughts about movies
- At least 1 review to be made per month (not so difficult right? more often will be better of course!)
Through this, I hope that all our members can benefit from good useful reviews written by the team so they know which movies to watch or which to run away from!
Why should you want to be a part of this team?
- You will be officially recognized as an authority (at least on SGC) on movies and a fair judge of movies
- Members will trust your opinions more about a movie and want to hear what you have to say
- Possibly a badge to be clearly displayed by your nick to establish your identity as part of this cool team
- Periodic freebies and incentives (still working out details, but perhaps things like free movie tix and stuff)
If you are keen to be considered as part of this team, pls post here and I will give you instructions later on how to demonstrate your critic skills. Hope i can get some good responses here and I will also be looking at how the team can be rewarded for your efforts (perhaps some free movie tickets once in a while?). Give it a shot!
Updated 29 Sep 08: If you would like to be considered, write a detailed movie review in relevant movie thread or create a new thread if no existing thread applies. Include a final review score in the format: Rating: X/5, where X is rounded to closest 0.5. Your rating will be judged based on usefulness and detail. Hmmm, writing reviews. That sounds interesting to me. I like watching movies during my free time and most movies that haven't been release in Singapore, I probably have already watched it.
I wouldn't mind to write a couple of reviews, even doing it volunteerily.

Hello, I would like to try out for the team (if there is a tryout). I've always liked to watch movies and I have my own opinions about a lot of them but I do not put them on paper. I can ensure you that I will write in proper English, and I will try my best to give entertaining reviews. Give me a PM.

Ah, well to be part of the Movie Critic Team, you obviously would have to frequent the cinemas often and well watch manyyyy movies.... ._.
