MYANMAR Prime Minister Thein Sein is scheduled to arrive in Singapore today on an introductory visit.
During the two-day visit, he will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Acting President J.Y. Pillay as well as Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a statement released yesterday.
His visit is part of the regular introductory visits that Asean leaders make to each other's countries after they are appointed.
General Thein Sein, who is coming at the invitation of PM Lee, will be accompanied by an official delegation that includes ministers and senior officials, said the MFA.
Separately, the MFA said Thailand's Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya has postponed his two-day introductory visit to Singapore that was to have begun today. Mr Kasit has to attend a Parliament meeting, it said.
