nyp has the most established and best nursing courses in local polys, though I doubt many people are interested in that

NYP and NP have strong reputations in Communications and Media. NYP especially for digital media with its graduates going on DIRECTLY to masters programs.

Re: Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) discussion thread!

If I have a finance diploma from NYP with 3.9 gpa, but only 16 for my o levels, what are the chances of me going into NUS Business?

The lower L1R4 may affect your chances but you do stand a decent chance. I would apply for business for all three universities if I were you.

Looks good actually. Just apply for all the business courses in the 3 universities.

I remember reading that the 10th percentile in 2012 for NBS was 3.64. With 3.90 i think you stand a good chance.

I've never been to nyp before...is it stricter and more competitive compared to other polys?

I don't know about other poly besides TP. My guess would be all the poly in sg should have a good environment. School work shouldn't be that stressful and make sure you don't play too much because poly is quite relaxed during non-exam period. Attend your lectures, do some lab and tutorials and that's all. Sometimes 1 day go for 1 hour lecture and go home depending on timetable it is easy to "relax" too much.

Don't think it is strict. Competitive wise it depends on whether your course mates are competitive or not

Anyone know the criteria to apply for scholarship, and how many years of bond one would have to sign?

It depends on which scholarship you are signing for, there are a number of them. Most require <10 for ELR2B2.

I know NYP scholarship has no bond. For selected courses however there is a bond up to 3 years, like for health sciences.

I can see there is a LOT of scholarship programs for health sciences courses like nursing. They are really pushing for people to join them, shows the lack of manpower.

Hospitality and management too. I think that is to accomodate RWS and MBS.

You submit an online application, and depending on your o level grades and CCA scores, you will be invited for an interview.
