Need complete help on guitar (some changes made)

I'm planning to take up guitar to enhance my plain as paper life
not sure whether i'm suitable
just asking

a few of my conditions
musical background : none(i cant read musical notes or all that)

i have one thing i really wanted to ask is that, i have sweaty palms, dunno can learn guitar or not
later will the wood spoil or string rust

i do have reactive fingers(i do speed solving of rubiks cube, my friend said that i've got sick fingers)

lastly, i'm willing to spend more than 3hrs on it everyday(i'm not bluffing, but my life is really plain, at home do nothing de. i'm determined to take up guitar)

will want to learn Acoustic guitar
will be learning everything off the net(no money to go for lessons), need help on website recommendations. Need a resourceful web that teaches everything from scratch including reading of chords and tabs

and lastly, of course, a recommendation for an acoustic guitar
budget is around $200~$300 ba

updates : abit contradicting here
from what i know, lots of people play the steel-strunged acoustic guitar
however the sound is like very harsh to me

i like the gentle and sweet sound of the classical guitar more

but normally websites concerntrate on teaching the acoustic guitar more,
and the tuning of classical and acoustic guitars should be same bah??

so now got abit problem choosing here
normally people use fingerpicking on the classical guitar, but then if i buy it
then i should be able to do strumming on it using a pick?? just that wont sound as great as compared to the steel strings

Strings rust just gotta change them. The wood won't spoil from sweaty palms. For guitar tabs you can try 911tabs.com, very useful site, large library of tabs. As for recommendations, for a budget of 200-300, you may want to go to peninsula and try the acoustics there. Some of them fall within your budget, you can try them out and see if you like it's sound. It's quite up to preference as some people may like a mellow sounding tone while others like very bright sounding ones.

Re: Need complete help on guitar

Sweaty palm problems are common. Strings would eventually rust sooner or later, so don't worry so much about that. However, if you want to prolong string life, I recommend going to SV Guitars at Peninsular Plaza and getting a bottle of Dr. Ducks Ax Wax. Useful stuff in protecting strings, and it polishes the guitar too!

As for guitars, I recommend heading down to Maestro. They build guitars specially for people with smaller hands. Most Asians have genetically smaller hands, so it'll probably be easier to play.

That said, its only a recommendation. Bring someone who know his stuff about guitars, and go down to Peninsular Excelsior, where most of the guitar shops are. Choose a guitar based on what you like, not on what other people prefer. If a particular guitar feels good to you, then that is the one that you're looking for

Re: Need complete help on guitar

Hmm, how to feel for the guitar. It's like how you choose a wand in the Harry Potter world. There has to be a "feeling", that as soon as you pick up the guitar, you would want to play music with it.

Of course, don't forget factors like tone. Tone is important because that is the sound, the soul of the guitar. Getting a guitar with a tone that is pleasing to the ear is also important - because if the tone sucks, no matter how good you are, it still sucks.

As for websites, I'm not sure. I learnt it from a friend, and I'm more into electric guitar actually

Re: Need complete help on guitar

Get the Yamaha gig pack, i think should be 200+, comes with everything, picks, bag, capo etc. U don't need any music background to play guitar, honestly. you just need to know how to read.
