Re: not allowed to go out at night

Zomg..

Sounds a bit like my mum...

She did not even approve of me staying over at chalets when i was 20..

Maybe she is those over protective mums who looks out for their offspring?

Calm down yea.. All i can say is...Or what my mum used to say is... "One day U will understand... Not now but one day.."

Re: not allowed to go out at night

Your mum is just concerned about u. If she didn't care about your safety and well being, she would have let u out at night and not worry a thing. My friend didn't get to go out at night until she was like 24, and even so her parents would want her to go out with someone familiar. Your mum is not the only parent to do this. Its pretty common for girls to be restricted from going out during certain times due to parental concern.

Just have a nice chat with her and maybe introduce some of your friends to her, so that she will understand that your friends are not that bad and will look out for each other when u go out at night.

Re: not allowed to go out at night

I'm surprised no one asked. Does your mother think hanging out with malays equate to doing drugs? If that's true, then your mum should learn not to be a racist by introducing her to your friends.

Re: not allowed to go out at night

no wonder. you are a female.

you should be happy with such parents that over-protect you.

these days girls are going bad to worse due to parents not strict enough, no time bother them, give them too mich freeedom etc.

Statastic had showed that the majority race that abuse drugs like ganja and heroin are unfortunately Malays.

Re: not allowed to go out at night

goes to show your mom cares, though it tends to get "overboard".
perhaps she is not that willing to let you out of the cage yet, perhaps she thinks it is too early to allow your wings to spread and fly yet.

talk to her and work things out.

Re: not allowed to go out at night

lolz, I'm 23 this year and my mum still does not allow me to go out at night lor. Then go where and what time come back also need to tell her (if never keep your word, no need to wish to go out again), cannot come back later than 12pm. no over night charlet either.

They older generation mah, so they tends to be more reserve. Just remember that you are not alone. Many parents out there is the same as yours.

Re: not allowed to go out at night

imo you really need to talk to her about this..
overprotection is one thing.. but accusing you of doing drugs with malay friends?
i think there could be some misunderstanding between you two and you need to sort it out..

Re: not allowed to go out at night

lolX not surprising for gers. my friend is 30 this year and her parents would not allow her to go home later than 10pm when she need to do OT the boss needs to talk with her mother and ask her permission. no matter how you look at it, its not helping the person, by keeping your darling baby at home will not safe guard her from harm and instead you only dislocate her from this world she is living in. ignorance wouldn't save her from any harm. i can only say that if you parents has intention to control you even when you are adult, she may hinder your career like what happen to my friend. i am not saying its not good but it has to be reasonable.
