OG&C industry in singapore

Hi, I am a control system and instrument engineer in an American EPC Company Shanghai office.

Due to the financial crisis, and the price of Oil fell, the entire industry of OG&C entered into downturn this year, as an EPC company, we also in a very difficult stage as many projects delayed or stopped.

Singapore as one of the biggest oil and petrochemical centers in the world, is it also in downturn?

hmmm down turn or nt i nt sure.... i only knw my junior working in shell as a chemist... gt a 6 mth bonus....

while most of us either bo bonus or only 1 mth.... haiz....

the fall or rise of oil prices are very much controlled, no? thus, if the oil price fell, there will still be business for these oil related companies even though projects may have been halted (temporary or otherwise).

and i believe this industry will not die off overnight...perhaps some weaker companies will suffer and subsequently be "eradicated" due to competition.
