Gender: | Part-Time RealEstate/Property Agent
Hi,
I'm looking for a part-time job on top of my full time 5-day week office hour job..
I thought of being a property agent but with so many companies, which one of these are better in whatever terms..
I am not familiar with the job scope too so a company that provides training is best.. I think like insurance agents, property agents have no cpf.. but as long as i still hef my current job, i don't think i'd mind.. the only downside for me would be probably timing (due to my work) and transportation (as i dun drive).. anything else i'm not sure...
Any advice and such? Or better suggestions? |

Gender: | Re: Part-Time RealEstate/Property Agent It's quite annoying cos your phone will ring non-stop and not all the time the tenants are really interested to rent the place cos they are just calling to compare prices. It's quite difficult to do it alone, normally when you join this company, they will assign you to a group where you have a network and do it together, then share commission.
Doing alone is almost impossible.
A couple of my friends are doing property agents full time. They have worked with PropNex and ERA, but I'm not sure how good they are cos for all companies, they still take a certain percentage of your commission but they provide you with the agents network that you can hold on to a list of contacts for housing, etc.

Gender: | Re: Part-Time RealEstate/Property Agent Any1 can give an insight to the life of a property agent like how many deals can they close in a month, how many people do they need to call before they meet 1 and after that how many turn out to be a successful deal. What is the pay range ? How many newcomers dropout after 1 yr? ( I am refering to newcomers to property of 1 year and below as I am aware that those few successful 1s are earning 5 or 6 figures commission like bankers) |

Gender: | Re: Part-Time RealEstate/Property Agent Another thing, all Real Estate company ask you to pay $500 to $700 for "training fee". Some companies give refund if a certain target is reached within 6 mths and some don't refund.
Any comment on "training fee"? Scam or investment to go into this field? |

Gender: | Re: Part-Time RealEstate/Property Agent Currently i am with ERA, i don't know if it's "good" or not but i think i'm just doing OK here. My division director is earning more or less $100,000 monthly and he is doing his own sales. His overriding is $30,000.
On average the top agents in ERA earn between $100,000 to $130,000 monthly BUT this month i saw an agent earning $1.13 Million in commission but let me tell you that is very very rare here.
ERA looks like it's more catered to HDBs, if you want to do private property i'm still not sure which one is better. |

When you are applying for job, every company will ask about you experience in that field or would have knowledge about that particular field. So you should have more knowledge regarding the job you want to apply.
