I saw somewhere that occurrences of typhoons are only about 4 times a year, so i thought i'd risk it and maybe won't be so unlucky as to meet one. But many people have said that they experienced typhoons when they went

I just came back last week.
For the rates i believe it's very much dependent on the market itself. I changed 1:21.85 at People's Park Complex, highest i seen in SG as of early April. When i touched down in Taoyuan International Airport, it's still around that range about 21.80-21.90. Few days in Taiwan, i saw the rate went up to 22.34. Do take note, you can either change in Taoyuan Airport or Bank of Taiwan (台湾银行). Taiwan got alot of banks but they take only USD.
For 后车站, yes it's at Taipei main station. From underground mall, it's exit 7, Huayin St. Buying clothes in Taiwan for Singaporeans would be quite challenging, partly due to their seasons. Timing is rather important as they sell different types of clothes depending on the coming seasons. So don't expect to get what you see on the TV.
For the 鸡排 at Wu Fen Pu, there's 3 stalls i saw. There's particularly 1 nicer near the temple.

Yes, the chicken cutlet is yummy. There is a famous stall (HAO DA JI PAI) at Shihlin but their chicken cutlet is only so-so. It has bones (different from those sold in Singapore). I prefer the one at the Liuhe night market.
I went in summer and there was tyhoon then. The clothes sold are frilly and lacey like those Japanese dolls. Not really suitable for me. Saw a group of girls dressed in cosplay clothes having tea at a cafe at Taipei 101. Such a sight. We immediately took a couple of photos.
Bags and shoes are affordable. Skincare products are very cheap. I bought more than 100 masks and still have leftovers now.
There is a good variety of snacks there. Tried the smelly tofu. Tasted ok, not as bad as it smells. The mango ice, guan cai ban, salted crispy chicken, meatball soup are very good. The lu rou fan is terrible. We can't finish it. Give it a miss.

For holidays, Taiwan is currently still not a bad choice as it has so far been out of infected countries listing.

xi men ding and shih lin ye shi are a must. i remember at shih lin there is a store selling chicken backside meat, dam nice. the stall called qi li xiang. also must try guan cai ban, and a stall selling oyster omelet but i forgot the name of the stall. for smelly toufu, i prefer those deep fried ones than those grilled ones. its not smelly, its tasty.

Must try also include bubble tea! Cause it's cheap and nice. They brewed the tea upon ordering.
Up for Taiwanese service standard.
