Default Precious lifestyle company?

Hi people, has anyone heard of or work with this company call, Precious Lifestyle? I have tried searching in the internet for their info but couldnt find anything.

Reason being that i was called up for an interview as a retail assistant cum telemarketer and was given very little information about the company. The interview was held at Burger King instead of the company's office. Therefore, i feel very unsure about the company or even the interviewer.

i was told by the interviewer that it is a company that sell gift item and they are expanding. but so far i've only heard of Precious Thots and not Precious lifestyle.

Those that turn up for the interview, were given a "sales test" to test our capability to sell things and sincerity of working for the company. we were told to sell 2 pens at $9 each. if we managed to sell them by 1 day, then we pass the test and they will send us for training.

I guess many people, including me will just buy it on our own and in order to get the job as the hourly pay as quoted by them is $8/hr. but since i couldnt find much about their company, i was worried about the credibility of this sales test.

Quite a number of people turn up for the interviews.

We shall see about it until we were given the job.

It may be a scam in the long run, just remember not to fork out too much money on your side, only then they won't be able to scam you. Otherwise, it may just be a decent small company all the best

I just return from their training, i can say that most of us were being tricked into this job. They first told us that we will be working in a retail shop, attending to customer and make calls only when there's no customer around, with basic pay of $8.

Now, they told us that our duty is to sell coporate watches to other company. We will only be paid if we meet the sales targer. If not we wont be paid.

So guys, next time if u receive their calls to go for this job, take note of wat i say regarding the pay. No sales, no pay. If u are damn sure that you can have high sales of their china made pens, then only go for it.

Default Re: Precious lifestyle company?

The company representative wants me to clarify my intention of saying we were being "tricked into the job". As i do not have enough post to submit a PM to her, i can only write it down here.

Firstly, i do not have any intention of saying Precious Lifestyle is a scam. If not i would not have defended Precious Lifestyle against brother st0ry by saying:
"relax bro. I didnt say that its a scam. so far, it doesnt look like to me. I was given instruction by them to go for training later. i mean, if they intend to scam us, they wouldnt have sent us for training."

Secondly, the reason i say "tricked into the job" is because all of us feel that the interviewer(did not want to reveal the name) has not given a detail info about the pay policy offer by your company.

Interviewer said something like: " you will be paid $8/hr of basic pay, we will locate you at one of our branches near your house. You will be responsible of attendign to customer and make calls to promote our products when there is no customer."

Trainer (i think he is the in charge or boss) said: "every 4 watches you sell, you will be given $14 dollars. we do not encourage you to work at the shop as we feel that it is not profitting as we have to rent a shop. therefore, we will give u a list to call and promote our watches."

i mean, as a temp worker, $8/hr of basic pay is alot. but $14 every 4 watch is difficult for inexperience telemarketer." therefore, not only me, everyone that turn up for training is upset about it.

Thirdly, the reason why i update about the training is because i got the intention of letting people know the truth that there is INDEED A TRAININ HELD by Precious lifestyle. if i do not update, more people will question the credibility of the "sales test" of selling 2 pens.

alright people, Precious lifestyle is not a scam, just that their passing down of info by the interviewer has a slight problem. it is not basic $8/hr, but $14 every 4 watches you sell by cold calling.

representative, If you think that this is not satisfactory or there is any missing info, PM me again. i seriously think that you should look for people that are yelling they are being scam at other forum for explaination and not me when i'm defending Precious lifestyle by frequently updating the recruitment process. i am not being sacarstic.

This company, I wouldn't say it is a scam. But I would like to let it be known to all who are trying to apply. They would call you, telling you that this is a telemarketing job which pays $8 to $9/hr. Of which, the difference is that $9 is for those working from home and because they use their own numbers, the company would reimburse a little to their bills. I am not too clear about it but it is something like this.

Now, let me make it very clearly that whatever pay the person promises you over the phone is not to be trusted because at the end of the day, the job is based on a "no sales, no pay" system. Meaning to say, all basic hourly pay is overwritten by this system. As some have mentioned, they sell watches in packages and the telemarketers earn commissions through confirmed sales. It is also the trainer's idea for the staff not to reveal the nature of the job, including its payscale.

Next, the test and training. As all of you have read, they would give you 2 pens to sell. You can choose to purchase it straight for $18 at $9 per pen, or put in a small deposit. Now, most of you I believe, would purchase these pens in hope of getting the job secured. That is the test, to sell the pen. Next would be training. The training would be held randomly at some place, very unprofessionally done. There is Clarke Quay, then there is Burger King and let me tell you, there is McDonald's as well. So please consider these factors when applying for the job.

Next, a little insight about the trainer. I shall not name him but his claims were big. He claimed that the company is affiliated with the government. Now look at Singtel, it is a company affiliated with the government and it is well funded and powerful in finances. But this company? The company expects you to sell 2 brownish and yes, china looking pens which seems to cost less than $4 for $9 each. This is something fishy for a company affiliated with the local government. However, these are his claims. He even claimed that he is so "famous" for suing people that even the police knows him. He even has a story to tell of which, a part of it includes the police advising a girl not to mess with this man because of some reason.

Now I will have to say this. Police officers will keep all information pertaining to anyone reporting a case as confidential. Be it a person of high status or just some market aunty. All information are classified as confidential and is not to be leaked out.

Also, the trainer claimed that his company is controlling the blacklist. Now what this blacklist does is to blacklist out anyone whose name is on the list. They are controlling it? I wonder. I just checked on ACRA, the company is registered at Anson Road. Exact road name, unknown as the company profile has to be bought.

If a company without a certificate of good standing has control over the blacklist, then what makes Singapore Telecommunications LTD a.k.a Singtel? Singtel is affiliated with the government, that is a known fact. On ACRA it has a cert of good standing, which is a certificate prove the existence of a company registered in Singapore and that it is still live on ACRA corporate register.

Now, Precious Lifestyle has no such certificate, which means there is a question mark to how long it has been in this field.

I am not saying this company is bad or it is a scam. But I hope to create an awareness to those applying for it. Please do your necessary research when you are applying.

As for the "representative" of the company, should you have any issues with my post, please clarify matters HERE. In this thread itself.

Precisely my point. Then how can it be affiliated with the government and have control over something called the "blacklist" when basically no one knows about the company. Things sounds fishy doesn't it?

I am a representative from Precious Lifestyle and I would like to clarify matters here. We would like to make it very clearly that Precious Lifestyle is NOT affiliated with the government. Are you certain about this? We are very confused about what you mentioned. Would you mind elaborating on this? There are many interviewees who came for the training and they know that it has never been mentioned that Precious Lifestyle is affiliated with the government.
With regards to the issue of blacklist, by the words of controlling, we mean that we have control on deciding whether to blacklist our employees with misconduct and interviewees as well. For your information, if you work for any company and has any misconduct, the company can blacklist you, not just us.
The venue of the training are conducted outside the office as the trainer does not stay in the office all the time and has a tight schedule in which he meets clients in various places. However, the trainer is meticulous in the training and makes sure that the trainees have a clear idea of what they are supposed to do for the job.
Hutriel, would you please identify yourself by sending a private post to us as a reference. Thank you
