Prime Cut - Channel U's first prime-time local production

SINGAPORE: MediaCorp artistes gathered at the St Regis Hotel on Monday to come clean about their adventures in plastic surgery.

Cast of 'Perfect Cut' at the press conference at St Regis.

It was a press conference held to launch MediaCorp TV Channel U’s very first prime-time local production, Perfect Cut.

The 13-part series revolves around the shenanigans of a plastic surgeon played by Thomas Ong and boasts a stellar cast that includes Michelle Chia, Felicia Chin, Pan Lingling, Constance Song, Julian Hee, Bernard Tan and Apple Hong.

The actors shared juicy stories about Constance’s daring “nude” scene, Apple spreading her legs to “reinstate her virginity” and Bernard being more fascinated with Julian’s solid six-pack than his on-screen wife’s twin assets.

In response to the inevitable question of what they would like to have nipped and tucked, the stars predictably played safe and coy (Felicia thinks her size eight-and-a-half feet are too big and Thomas said he’d like a “smaller face”).

However, one plastic surgeon on hand didn’t object to a little kiss and tell.

Dr Chua Jun Jin, who served as a technical consultant of sorts on the show, told TODAY that many local stars have him to thank for looking “more beautiful” than they already were.

According to the 42-year-old, who doesn’t look a day over 35, botox is the most common request, followed by laser treatments, double eye-lid procedures, nose jobs and breast augmentations — in no particular order.

Guess nobody’s perfect after all. - TODAY/sh

Perfect Cut premieres July 9 at 10pm on MediaCorp TV Channel U.
