Bright red or lush green. Commuters will get to vote for the colour of the new buses used under the Government contracting model.

The chosen colour will make its debut on buses to be used by Anglo-Australian company Tower Transit, which will start operations in the western part of the island from the second quarter of this year.

The public can cast their votes at http://colouryourbuses.sg, or at selected MRT stations and bus interchanges. Voting for the new bus livery started yesterday and will end on Feb 5.

Voted green because it better fits our garden-city architecture (lots of greenery). Plus it just looks cooler in my opinion.

Then they should choose Blue, smooth flowing of traffic. Red makes people see red over it and green, it's not helping either.

SINGAPORE — It was a close fight. But commuters here have picked lush green as the preferred colour for new buses that will be taking to the roads soon as part of a new Government contracting model.

Some 57,505 valid votes were cast in the choice between green, signifying environmental friendliness, and red, Singapore’s national colour. Green won the month-long vote by a razor-thin margin of 144 votes.
