have qns about rebonding hair...

Hi everyone,

have some qns about rebonding hair....

my hair looks like pong pong....very scary and the hair always curl at near the ear portion. Tried rebonding in the past before but that auntie seem to have done my hair badly as after rebonding it does not last me for 3 months and when she rebonds, she makes the temperature super hot until my whole head hurts and the ears become super red like it has just been cooked

and people say rebond hair is not good cos it will damage hair....is it true? and where can i get a good hair salon around amg mo kio area where i can rebond my hair cos my hair looks really scary now, especially in the morning when i woke up, and my hair texture is super hard, rough and looks like "pong pong" (my current hair length is until shoulder length)

Thankz

i rebonded my hair for like 3 times?
now its quite straight for like 6 months and counting.
Hmm
don't get the same saloon to do it, nor those expensive ones like jean yip because its all about the same.

Re: have qns about rebonding hair...

hello

Since you mentioned your hair is quite pong pong, how bout try thinning it? Layering it and make it light-weight.. That's another alternative besides rebonding.

Rebonding.... cant say it's good or bad, depends the way you take care of it. I rebonded back in 2001, 2002 so i cant commend much as the equipments they used might be different now and probably better and faster. My mom rebonded a few times too not now anymore though her hair is ok, dont look damaging, probably because she had hair treatments too.

Thinning/layering is another alternative to rough/a lot of hair. Maybe you can consider? You can have another look too.. And straight hair all the way looks kinda boring too

hi,

i tried thinning/layering for my hair....also tried to cut it super short....but my hair texture is not only rough...its thick....one strand of hair = two strand of hair...

thinking of going for long hair cos i have been having short hair for past century...thinking of changing a new hair style...lol...and i heard there is something call soft rebonding...whats that? anyone know whats soft rebonding?

anymore suggestions on what to do for hair that is think, rough, slight curly and hair length until shoulder? is rebonding (soft rebonding) a good choice? thankz

Re: have qns about rebonding hair...

I used to have TS's same problem.. my hair was borned out "pong pong" wake up, go out like lion head.. The only time was I just finished washing hair.. my hair was straight and flat -.- lolx!

I rebonding my hair since I was back in sec 2.. meaning around 5-6 years. 1 year maybe 2 times the most. Depending on how well it last.

Well, I will say, the hair will be dry but not as bad as damage.
The only time, my hair was damage by rebonding was those hair that I "beached" ( Don't know how to spell )

Yupz, try using rebonding shampoo and treatment at home, it might helps alittle to keep the hair healthy

But of course, layering hair helps too. But the pong pong will be still there after layer.

Re: have qns about rebonding hair...

if you can, ask for a "heavy layered" hairstyle. soft rebonding is actually straightening.. but it damages the hair too. for the chemical to penetrate and straighten your hair, it needs to open up your hair cuticles which are lying flat against the hair shaft previously.. when the procedure is done the hair cuticles do not lie back again against the hair shaft.. it is "open" therefore making the hair damaged. this applies to all chemical procedures eg. colouring, rebonding, perming, bleaching etc. and also i ask you, do you think extreme heat of the straightener wont damage your hair one bit? the temperature is around 180-220 degrees. So yeah, how can it not hurt? thats why we dont advise people to blow dry or use a straightener on their hair everyday. (:

Re: have qns about rebonding hair...

this hair-dresser is really good. amk ave 10, hair workshop. look for KEN. (:

my hair sounds like yours.

ive tried soft rebonding. last for 6months. not much of a diff. i'm going for normal rebonding next month.

used to work at jean yip. they are just like any normal hair salons, just that they are branded. thats all.

no layering, no cutting of super short. try to grow it long. the weight of your hair will pull it down so won't look as pong.

(:

using a hair dryer to dry it is good too. works well for me. (:

maybe try going for regular treatment sessions. it might help.

ultimate solution: normal rebonding.

Go to a salon recommended by friends or anyone,
i'm sure they offer fringe rebonding.

There's a lot type of rebonding too?
Ice rebond,
Soft rebond, and more.
But i don't know whats the different effect.
Anyone know this?

Re: have qns about rebonding hair...

i think rebonding your hair okay if you did it 1-2 years once,
as if you rebond it too often, your hair will become really dry.

my sis and mother and everybody said hair rebonding will damage your hair but i still went ahead with it 2 years ago. for me, i think it depends a lot on your original hair quality and how you cair for your hair and such. so long as you dont do more chemical stuffs to your hair after rebonding i think there wouldnt be much damage? i think my hair is much more healthier now than before.
