Question regarding ROM & Solemnisation

Hi, I would like to know can we have the solemnisation without the solemnizer? Is it compulsory?
Let say if we have the solemnisation at the rom, what to expect for the solemnisation? Is solemnisation the day to collect the marriage certificate?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Question regarding ROM & Solemnisation

In SG, you must have a registered Solemniser. When you apply onlline @ the ROM website, u have to fill in the solemniser's name & code. Without tt data, the application cannot be process. The list of Solemniser can be found @ the ROM website.

You may choose your solemnisation ceremony @ ROM or else where in SG. There are indoor & outdoor places @ ROM to hold it, check ROM website for further details. Basically is the bride & groom with their witnesses (if either of the couple is under 21yrs, need parent's consent) + the Solemniser. Couple to say the marriage vows sign on the marriage cert, witness sign & Solemniser sign. There will be 2 copies of cert, 1 copy for ROM, the other the couple keep.
