Well, in another way, they are helping the ghost child to collect merits for the right reasons.......or they will use the ghost child for evil gains.

I used to keep one 'ghost' child in one of my spare room many years ago when my son was about 1 years old. Strange things happened to us.......Let me relate the stories......

I set up a altar specially for the 'ghost' child or Kumantong. I had sweets, milk and toys as offerings. Sometimes at night while we were sleeping, I would be woken up by some strange noises in that room. It seems like someone 'playing' inside. I was too scare to go and investigate........when I was watching channel 5 and needs to get a drink at the kitchen, by the time I am back the channel has jumped to another channel. This happened many times! Sometimes my baby will cry for no apparent reasons at night. We have a babysitter next door and everyday will bring our baby over before going to work. My babysitter told me few times that she saw small pinch marks on my baby's legs and arms. That freaks me out coz I realized that it could be the work of this 'ghost' child. Eventually I disposed it after some advice from friends. Never will I touch this again........

Default Re: Raising Ghost Child

I use to keep few Kumantong during my youngest days. Here some of my knowing and hope it will help you.

Age around 8mth to 7 yrs old. I actually “invited” them from Thailand temple and some given to me by monks.

How they made?

Monks or those evil priests will dig out the grave of the babies and either using they bones or hairs (sometime powder from the tombstone) to curve into amulets (babies) forms. For those unborn (meaning die inside the mother wombs) to about the age of one the amulets figure will be like a baby climbing on the floor sucking pacifiers (very cute), those age about 2 to 8 yrs old, the figuring is a stand up or sitting baby figure and some age about 6 – 8 you can see them carry a weapons like arrow and bow.

The evil type (which mean they can’t rest in peace) the monk will blindfold them in red cloth, these sorts will take years to wash away they hater and sin by chanting daily. And never let then taste blood or it will be very difficult to tame them.

Feeding – There are a few way to feed Kumantong.
a) Sweet (Change once the sweet turn soft)
b) Chocolates (Same as above)
c) Fresh milk (which you need to change daily)
d) Plain rice (No much people use this)
e) Hard boil egg, peel off the shell (Change it once the egg turn black)
b) Blood of the owner, everyday per drop (Mainly use for those Kumantong dead of unnatural dead. Like adoption, kill by parent once born etc. Because of “hate” the become unrest soul and unlikely to be reborn again unless someone do offering of chatting by high monks to rest they soul. These are more “evil” type of feeding process, but also most effecting type, they will follow the owner heart, if the owner is “evil” the Kumantong will become like oneself, if the owner heart if “kind” the Kumantong will be good and wait for his/her change to be reborn.

How to keep?

a) You must treat them like your own kids, they got feeling too and you need to teach them what right what wrong.
b) If you have evil though, they will sense it and follow your mindset. They will help you to do evil deeds, but remembered this that you will have to pay back so how.
c) If you have kind though, they will also behave like you, but they will also help you in the way that you will live a smooth life. They will help you to clear any obstruction in your path.
d) They can be naughty sometime just like kids, so you as the daddy or mummy must punish them according same goes if they been a good boy you must awards them like buying new toys, clothing, sweet etc.

How do I get rid of them?

a) Is not easy of get rid of them like items you just throw down to the bin chute.
b) You cannot just throw them under a tree or far away, because they like dog, no matter how far you throw them, they will “stiff” they way back to you and disturb you.
c) If you really wanted to disposal them, you must bring them to a temple (For me I bring them back to Thai Temple at Simpang Bedok), together you must bring new clothing, plenty of sweets, toys etc and go to find the monk “on duty” that day and tell them that you don’t want to keep anymore. They will help you to chat and place them on the offering tables (Which many others Kumantongs “friends” sitting there), then you place your offering to all the others Kumantongs which been there before yours and tell them to take care of yours Kumantongs and “help” them not to bully them. Is a sort of bribing to them?

I get rid of mine because they are damn naughty and hard to tame, very playful. But they do help me in many ways like money and relationship which I rather not go into details. :biggrin4:

Like many I was lured by the stories of what the kumantong can do for his master. I was so engross in Thai Buddhism that very soon my HDB is almost converted to a mini Thai temple.

I adopted the kumantong out of 'fun' and the 'benefits' as 'sai ko' by the shop. At that time I was out of job and need any 'extra' help I could get.

I faithfully followed the ritual of keeping the kumantong as described by moody moo except the blood thing. The first few weeks was ok. In fact you can feel the 'presence' of the kumantong after the 1st week. Initially I was glad that I was able to invite 'him' into my house.

My son, who was learning to walk in a child-walker sometimes wade into the room, looking at the kumantong and smiling. It seems ok that 'someone' is playing with him. But as time goes, my time spent on the kumantong gets lesser and lesser. Of course I devoted my time to my own son and that's where trouble started! I think it gets very jealous becoz of my affection for my own son.

I did not disposed the kumantong in the temple. I simply bring it down to the seaside, chanted something and there it goes - right into the sea! That is some experience I never forget.......

I'm quite curious..

so when you invited the ghost child to reside at your home, does that mean your home does not have any prayer tables or religious items such as bibles, crosses, goddess of mercy or buddha statues etc etc...?

Just like you, mine house or I should say my room also like a mini Thai Temple. With all sort of Thai amulets, statues, offering etc. Because the Thai Master tell me that I need a “bigger and more powerful” Buddha to so call hold / press down those Kumantong. In the event of thing get out of hand the Buddha can take action.

Once you adopt Kumantong, you become a fatherly or motherly figure to them, meaning them treated you as they parents. Just like kids they need people to care for them, play with them and teacher them, of course they will be jealous if you show more feeling to others. That why it an advise not to keep kumantong if you have kids in your house. They may disturb your kids when they jealousies grow but some good one may assist you in taking care of them. Especially babies they able to see “thing” which us adult unable to see, that why sometime you can see your babies playing happily by themselves just like someone else playing with them. Weird right?

I not blaming you bro but you should not dispose them to the sea, it a cruel thing to do. Think as if a real human baby? You think he able to swimming in the sea without drowning? And whoever pick them up, good luck to them. Kumantong is not “forgiving” sprits. It will bring bad luck to them.

Like what I mentioned earlier, that them help me in a lot of way. Like getting a good job, small wealth (4D, mahjong, poker etc), good relationship etc. Maybe others say, “Is your luck lah, nothing to do with them” but to me I got strong believing in they is the one who bring me all the luck.

I hate to let them go but guess fate end there, anyway I also happy for them which they already reborn as “real” babies.

If got chance I shall write about another sort of Buddha which more on the evil side type. Don’t know if you hear before that this sort you need to warp up with women “Use Tempo” to let it suck the blood. It a very powerful idol that I dare not try but a friend of mine did and something very terrible happen to him month later... :freakedout:

Your house ofcourse still can have paryer tables etc. As for bibles, crosses you can save it as kummantong are "chinese ghost" :biggrin4:

Like I mentioned they are ghost kids which unabel to do much harm unless those very powerful or evil type. But if you keep those evil type defiantly you won't place a buddha to tame him as you need him to do "evil" stuff for you mah :devil2:

End of the day the just like kids without ppl to care or love them. By keeping them not only it help yourself also help them to "earn merits" (In good deeds)to be reborn again :mellow3:

Default Re: Raising Ghost Child

Fianlly I able to find a post which I use to post at another forum last time.

The History of Guman Tong

Guman Thong is a Thai amulet created in the form of a lovely young child, but it's really a ghost !! It's was first created in the early of Ayuthaya era or some 500 years ago during Khun Paen's life period. It can be said that Khun Paen was the first who created Guman Thong. He brought the dead baby from the womb of the dead Bua Klee, one of his minor wife, to the Bosth's outer area within Pathasima marking boundary pillars for ritual processes. Bosth is the major chanting hall where the main Buddha image of the temple is placed. Bosth and its outer area are so sacred place that no mighty ghosts or spirits can enter to make any harassment. By the legendary descriptions, Khun Paen was chanting some important Mantras to activate the spirit of Guman Thong while baking the dead baby on the fire.
It's Thai belief that a mother who died with her baby in the womb may become a very mighty ferocious ghost; Thai people call such the ghost PHI TAI TONG KLOM. By Thai traditon, any pregnant lady who died in that manner will not be cremated immediately in all cases, believing that it will make the spirit of the dead unhappy and may activate her to become the vicious ghost. Creating Guman Thong in the ancient time was very thrilling. The master had to go to the graveyard alone in the night, dig up the corpse, cut the corpse's abdomen bringing the dead baby out, and then rush directly to the nearest Bosth's outer area for baking processes. That's the safe place to protect the ghost mother from trying to bring her baby back. So only the strong-mind person who possesses the advanced magical knowledges to fight the ghost could do this.
On the ancient Thai belief, Phi Tai Tong Klom is also a good source for producing the opposite-sex attractive oil, NAM MAN PRAI (Nam Man = oil, Prai= female ghost). The master who wants to produce this oil needs to activate the corpse rising from the grave, and then use the candle flame heating under the corpse's chin, the derivative dropping-down liquid is the best quality opposite-sex attractive oil !!
Even the root form of Guman Thong is actually a dead infant. But it is traditionally created in the form of a young child with various materials, such as wood, bronze, ivory tusk, plaster, etc. The main purpose of creating Guman Thong in the ancient time is for protecting the owner. The young child ghost could be activated with Mantra to fight the owner's enemies or to protect the owner's treasures.
Creating present-era Guman Thongs the guru monks use no more such the thrilling method but create them with sacred materials and activate their lives by holy Mantras. Some guru monks who created sacred Guman Thongs are such as Luang Poo Boon of Wat Klang Bang Kaew, Luang Poh Cham of Wat Takong and Luang Poh Tae KongThong of Wat SamNgam, etc. But the most well-known and most popular pieces are of Luang Poh Tae KongThong. Almost all the present-era Guman Thongs have been created for wealth and for fortune-fetching purposes.
Any one who wants to worship Guman Thong should be acknowledged some important practices :
1. Food offering must be presented at least once a day.
2. Toy offering must also be presented occasionally, it's just because Guman Thong is a young child(spirit), he likes playing toys as another human child.
3. The worshipper should love Guman Thong as his/her son. For the 1st personal pronoun you call yourself "father" or "mother"; for the 2nd personal pronoun you call him "my son" ; and for the 3rd personal pronoun you just call his name Guman Thong.
4. Any house that has small child/children, it's recommended that should not bring in and worship Guman Thong because he may envy your child/children whom you pay all love to.
Worshipping Guman Thong needs deliberate practices. But if you can do it completely as recommended, he will be a good great fortune bringer.
