Recommend bridal packages and services?

Planning for my big day and wonder if anyone here can recommend your own bridal package or service contracted? Which shop did you use and how was your experience? Best if you can remember the person who managed your wedding. TQ!!

Re: Recommend bridal packages and services?

Well, you can try Jawn happy.ever.after. I have heard some pretty good reviews about them. Moreover, they are conveniently located in town at the Concorde Hotel

When I accompanied my cousin down to do her ROM gown and subsequently a cocktail gown (I was the best boy), what struck me was their professionalism and meticulousness when they go about their work. I think it was one of the few times I've ever seen my cousin become speechless, as the designs they offered was beyond her expectations (main gown silver with coloured embriodery and they also give you the option of accessories such as diamonds and crystals for additional shine). The bridal package they offered her was a wee bit over-priced at around $3,500. But it was good money for a good quality gown that she can also wear for formal occasions.

Re: Recommend bridal packages and services?

Personally, I think one valuable first step you can do is to go for bridal shows. These shows often gather various wedding gown designers and photographers' products to showcase them. As different people have different tastes, what we recommend here might not be for you. Hence, you could go down and take a look on what catches your eye As of now, there is a Wedding Bliss Bridal Fair ongoing from 2 - 8 March at Orchard Central! Do go down to take a look!

From my experience, Jawn happy.ever.after also does a range of bridal dresses as well. My sister got a package at $3,788.00 which included:
1) 1 MTM Wedding Gown(Rental)
2) 1 MTM Evening Gown
3) 1 MTM Men Suit
4) Bridal Bouquet and Corsages
5) Option to rent accessories
6) Makeup package

Photo-taking is done by a series of photographers ranging from The Edge, Linn Creative, O Studio, Leonard Se, with options of both studio and outdoors.
What i like about Jawn happer.ever.after is that their gowns are gorgeous, service quality is excellent and the accessories wide-ranging. Moreover, there is no hidden cost, they'll list all the items and services and conclude with the price NETT

Re: Recommend bridal packages and services?

You might also want to try Flamingo. There're quite a few staff that are really nice and helpful! I had a good experience with Shirley Li, whom helped me pick out a design I like and made a really nice gown! You can see her work at https://www.facebook.com/flamingobridal, the works are more of the dreamsy fairytale wedding kind! When I went down to visit her, the experience with her is like shes reading my mind! She has tons of ideas and take your suggestions (even though I was totally not sure about dress design) seriously. However, she'll be more focused on the dress and hence you might find that you'd like to find your own photographer. However, she does offer packages between $3,000 to $5,000 as well but prices tend to be in the middle of this range

Re: Recommend bridal packages and services?

I did my wedding with Amanda Lee Weddings and I must say, I loved it! When I first met her, I had the immediate impression of that she takes pride in her work, she designs each dress to fit the personality and character of the bride. Even though she has more than 1 branch now (1 in Orchard Road and 1 opposite Little India MRT), she makes the effort to see each of her clients personally and gets feedback on what they want.

My package of $4,790 consists of an MTM Wedding Gown, MTM evening gown (wedding gown is rental but we are able to keep the evening gown), 4 make up sessions,2 hand bouquets (for studio shoot and wedding shoot), 6 corsages and accessories. Photography was done by her friendly photographer Robin.

I remembered there being a dry cleaning fee of $50 after the wedding and we rented a tea dress for around $100 - $200. Overall, though we hit about $5,000, my husband and I still felt the service standard is excellent and what we were provided with was adequate. The photographer from Studio D'fia was patient too during our shoots and I must say I had a very good experience!

Hi! $3,500 is a pretty small sum compared to mine One thing good about Jawn is that they display the total price straightaway for you, no hidden costs involved, unlike mine which we topped up quite a bit as we wanted an extra tea dress. I did consider the bridal boutique too but the feeling I got when I tried to contact their staff was frustrating. For Susan, I made numerous calls for enquires yet she doesn't seem to pick up the phone.

One point that put me off too was the photographer from The Edge that they used. His signature pieces were always done at the same places (Fullerton Hotel and Millenia Walk) and I don't see any creativity in that. What I wanted was someplace sunny and cheerful but he was unable to accomodate my request.

Has your cousin finalised with Jawn already? I admit their work is good, but these points (experience-wise) are worth thinking about. A wedding is a once in a lifetime experience, do think about other factors as well!

$3,500 - $5,000 seems a bit steep guys are there any cheaper packages available?

For my husband and I, we were turned off by the steep prices too. However, I called Susan at Jawn happily.ever.after and it turns out that they did do packages of $2,288 and $2,888. However, these packages are without photography as photographers charge quite high for quality shots.

However, one good point about choosing this package was that they really focused on my wedding gown and my husband's suit. I chose lacy and I really liked it as my train can somehow be 'fixed' to my waist making walking less tiresome. You only need to let it down when you walk into the church!

Pictures-wise, we did not regret it. We got a beautiful family shot for the family as my brother's hobby is photography and he happened to own a DSLR and we framed it up for a cost of around $150? Its been 5 years now and the picture still looks as good as new

One thing I definitely remember about Amanda Lee Weddings is the number of photographers they tie up with! Really a whole range to choose from: Chris Leng, Andrew Choi, Studio D'fia, Robin Photography, Photospace, Utopia &amp and a few more. All of them specialise in different themes of wedding photos but are open to taking client directions. That was the deja vu moment for me as I ran up with other boutique and their photographers weren't so flexible!

If you're the type that doesn't want to do wedding photography, they do offer such packages too, my friend paid around $3,500 nett for the same services except photography

Re: Recommend bridal packages and services?

Hi, my wedding back in 2008 was a budget one. I got a wedding package from Thomson Wedding Collection for $2,799. Included wedding shoots, a selection of 2 -3 gowns, make up sessions. What I like about this boutique is the make up, their make-up artists are really skilled, they made me look so pretty My fiance didn't even dared to look at me when I came out hahaha, he thought I was some other hot woman but his wife-to-be was still inside, so cannot try anything

If you guys are interested, you can liaise with Ivan Yong there! But do take note of the fine print in the contract though, extra charges can be charged when you customise your package. For example, its hard to believe so, but the fine print made a potential package $3,399 when there were no shoots and only AD photographer on actual day...

Re: Recommend bridal packages and services?

A quick point about photographers for you guys to take note, good AD photographers can be hard to find. I did plenty of research and most cost around a range of $3,000 to $5,000. This can easily double the sum of your wedding packages, and is something accounting-wise to look out for. Its best if you guys can find intro for them. Before my own wedding, my brother managed to intro this guy who was willing to charge $1,500 (see the difference?) but in the end we chose to settle for my brother's pictures instead. Family is the best, cos its free

Re: Recommend bridal packages and services?

I did my wedding with The Wedding Present in 2001. The service was really good, the staff were professional and indulged my every whim. In fact, we went through 11-12 gowns and still I hadn't committed yet Was choosing between Pure Bridal and The Wedding Present then but decided on The Wedding Present in the end due to the service! One good thing about them is that appointments are sent out early and hence you can plan your schedule accordingly, the staff are well prepared before you even step in for first fitting, 2nd amended fitting etc, I felt so inefficient beside them! Wedding packages are standard pricing range, I paid about $4,000 for wedding gown (rental), evening gown, accessories, corsets, bouquets. My photographer then was Andrew Choi, whom I found really irritating as he always seem to be unable to make it for the dates I could make it LOL. In the end, I gave up and engaged Utopia instead. My wedding planner Patrick though, was really nice and delivers excellent service! Not sure if they're around now but you could try contacting them!

Re: Recommend bridal packages and services?

I did my wedding back in 2010 with Chang Ai Bridal, its a Taiwanese bridal that opened in Singapore. It has a shop located at Tanjong Pagar and offers the standard wedding packages. One distinguishing point about it though, is that they offer you photography sessions in Taiwan. Their bridal gowns also follow a distinctive Taiwanese style and have more of a countryside feel about them Moreover, I love the service they provided me. That day, I was simply walking past their shop and decided to go in to take a look. Before I even stepped in, the salesgirl was already at the doorstep inviting me in. Moreover, she allowed me to try over 10 gowns with no obligations. In the end, my husband and I decided to do our wedding locally instead (We applied for a HDB flat then and couldn't afford to splurge so much as we need to make the down payment). However, even when not in their home turf, they ran my wedding beautifully. I was never in a state where my make-up was not done or I was missing anything. Moreover, the price was reasonalby and I paid about $3,300 nett for my package. Worth a look!

Just to add on about Chang Ai, I did some research about them too for interest and I think the package that -lovedisney- paid for was the basic package worth $3,888. They do ROM and weddings separately. They are also known to give free upgrades before to the $5,888 (extra AD dress to keep, personalised make-up artist provided). The reason many people sign up with them is that unlike many potential hard-selling bridal shops, they actually let customers go home to think about it before coming back to them, and that in itself, makes this bridal shop stand out

Just a note to forum-users, don't get turned off if your initial contact with Amanda only gives you short replies and one-liners! Amanda is a person who'd rather spend quality time in the bridal shop with her clients than talk to people on the phone In real life, shes actually a very nice person, its just this quirky trademark of hers that she doesn't like conversations where she can't really connect personally with you.

Re: Recommend bridal packages and services?

I did my wedding with Divine Couture back then As I already planned to take up an non-photography package anyway, I chose my bridal shop according to the quality of the designers. Divine Couture's Kim, Jessica and Helen all have their own styles and perceptions on how a dream wedding should be like, so the initial consultation could be confusing. Helen is the more down-to-earth and simple one, whereas Kim might think you need an expensive dress to pull off a stunning wedding. Jessica is the neutral kind who blends well with the customer's desires.

A note to wedding couples, the packages at Divine Couture can be expensive. For a non-photography bridal package with a MTM dress and assorted accessories, I paid around $2,600 nett. I understand for packages including photography, prices can go up to anaverage of $3,800 nett and sometimes, you can pay $1,200 for several ad-hoc photography services. However, I felt that the advice the designers gave me was worth the money spent. All of them were professional, know their work well, were agreeable to letting me try all the designs that I want. Moreover, the small tips and clues they gave helped me go through a hassle-free, smooth wedding!

I think the main reason why people tend to find Kim aloof and arrogant is because she has poor multi-managing skills. She can only focus on one client and that one client only. Hence, if you disturb her while she is busy with stuff she could be quite abrupt and not as warm. However, if you get to talk to her properly (I did when I dropped in to take a look), I find that she is actually full of ideas and knows her job well. More improvement needed in the communications department here but yeap, Kim is a decent bridal planner I'd say
