Relief Teacher or Secretary to VP??

I'm quitting my current temp job at M0E tomorrow. Will be taking on a temp job till Aug when I start my uni. I have two job offers currently, and hope that some kind souls out there can give me some inputs.

Should I work as relief teacher or secretary to VP this coming Monday?? Both sounds fun to me.. o.o

The Relief Teaching one fetch higher pay, working hours is 7.30am to 1.30pm. The location is rather near my place. Can reach in 15 mins as I have about 4 different direct buses to that primary school. Have to teach English, Maths and Science..

The secretary one sounds more challenging to me. Normal working hours. It's for a good company, but the pay is just average. Location wise, have to take the train. Have to coordinate meetings, arrange VP's schedule, write minutes, etc.

Oh, and both jobs happen to be covering for people on maternity leave...

Relief teacher!
Its also challenging, and location is a big factor you must ponder on.

Relief teacher may be the choice given the condition u stated. But if u impress on the secretary job, u may secure a future job for yourself

Re: Relief Teacher or Secretary to VP??

Relief teacher would be better if money wise, convenience, and easier life ; secretary ( depend on work-load and environment ) would be more demanding and hectic, colleagues might not be supportive ( but can learn human management from them ), dressing co-ordination and appearance wise have to be more attentive

Re: Relief Teacher or Secretary to VP??

Thanks all for replying to my thread. I'm still considering my options. Both jobs are just as interesting to me since I have not tried them before. A pity that they start on the same day!! Sad lah... =(

Hi nameless! I'll be going into marketing and advertising. Both jobs also not directly related to what I want to do in future. Lol. But I have decided to take up relief teaching, so that I have more time for my social activities after work! And also, I feel that it is a different working environment from the usual office one lah. Worth a try. =D

Good luck. And have fun. (not too sure about social activities after work though. Teaching does not end at 1.30pm like many people think.)

It's doesn't really matter if you do anything that's totally related to what you'll be studying. All job experience is experience. Whatever it is, it's a feather in your cap.
