Total SGC$: 8,846.00 | Religious Forums Formed! I am happy to announce that we have decided to start several religious forums. Before you start worrying, allow me to explain first.
As a start we have decided to form 4 religious forums: Christian, Buddhism, Hindu & Muslim.
The objective of these forums is to allow personal discussions among members of the SAME FAITH relating to their religion.
As such, all of you will be able to see them. Only if you belong to the relevant religion, will you be able to see the associated forum and post there. This is to ensure that only members of the same religions can post in the associated forums.
We decided that Christians & Catholics can post in the same forum: Christian Forum and Buddhists & Taoists can post in the same forum: Buddhism Forum. We do not mean to trivialize or offend any religion and if this is offending to some of you, pls let me know and I'll see how best we can improve the arrangement.
So for those of you who have not selected your religion, pls do so through the 'edit profile' option in order for you to be able to see your associated religious forum.
For those who are free-thinkers or of other minor religions, we have not created any forums for you yet. If you feel that you want a separate forum for your religion, pls PM me. If there is sufficient demand for it, I will create the forum for you.
Ok, enough talking for now, so feel free to discuss your own religious matters among fellow believers without fear of criticism by others not of the same faith. Of course anyone found to deliberately enter a religious forum for the sake of flaming or antagonizing that faith will be dealt with severely and quickly. Let us respect each others' religions and allow each other to have personal discussions with others of the same faith ya?
We welcome your comments and feedback

Also I thought, maybe there could b a subforum for discussion on religion in general? Of course it would have to be moderated closely to ensure only mature discussion takes place. |

Total SGC$: 844.40 | Re: Religious Forums Formed! I would have preferred if it was just 1 Religion sub-forum within SGC, and interested members would have the freedom to start a thread to concentrate on a particular faith. A general sub-forum would also allow the exploration of topics that encompass the many faiths as a whole. Of course, perhaps in due time, a significant number of members of a faith may eventually request a specialised sub-sub-section for themselves. Just a thought here..
That aside, mods better be watching this one closely, due to high proclivity of derailment. If regulated appropriately, I say it would be a healthy addition to SGClub.

If you decides to opt for a free thinker site, then i afraid it does not help anything out. Since the topics are mostly bended towards nothing related to religion talks or talking negatively about religions.
P.S. I say this as a free-thinker.
It's a good implantation to keep each religion to it's own people, if not there will be debates starting here and there.
Same wise, if there is a free-thinker forum, i believe that it should not be discussed by other religions.

That would be a choice to make.
As being racist is illegal.
So why not banning anyone that insults people's religion?
Fated. |

Same wise, if there is a free-thinker forum, i believe that it should not be discussed by other religions. | there are actually 3 types if free-thinker
1) People who doesnt give a sh!t about religious stuff
2) People who absolutely deny the existance of gods blah blah
3) People who wants to study about religious stuff in a non - biased manner.
apparently you belong to the first, but you will be surprise that the 2nd and 3rd have topic to talk about.
Also i think that if a free thinker forum is to be created, i guess its better to seperate the 2nd and 3rd type. |
