SGClub Event/Party?

We have toyed with this idea of organising a SGClub-wide event. As such, we are throwing it out to you guys to give suggestions on what you think might work.

Some thoughts before suggesting:

- Event must be something that allows and encourages interaction between strangers (since most members don't know each other)
- Event should be something that most members will be able to participate or have interest of participating. Organising a karaoke will NOT work as only a small group will be interested.

but is it entertaining enough?
if there's music, make ppl dance, have fun, chit chat, drink and play around, and with photographers etc, it would be fun.
i think over all, 'party' is the thing.

photographers and contests are neccessary =P don't you think so?

or entire sgc ppl can booked zouk for one night. best advertisment for SGC. LOL =D

You can actually book the club and not distribute alcoholic drinks.
As long as you do that, minors are allowed to go in.

but wld a party leave out individual members? i imagine many members who have never met anyone else on SGC. if they go for a party, who would they hang out with? who will they talk to? it seems likely that it is no one, unless they are really good at making friends.

that is our main concern right now. just visualize how it will go if we have a party and you will understand our doubts.

Clubbing also nobody noe each other.
It's a party and they slowly start to chat with each other.
Dancing is a way of communication.
And your concern can be solved by contests.
Like self introduction, best self introducer will win something etc, which can break the wall of awkwardness.

The people have to be willing to communicate with another, before anything can work.
You can't really care if some people don't wanna open their mouth and communicate right?
The event is made for people to get to know each other etc, but if they don't want and they're there, it's nobody's fault right?
You can't spoonfeed everyone.

SGC group matchmaking session, then computer match ppl to ppl.like that they wont be alone LOL !!! maby not matchmaking la ...friend making session .

We all drink abit, end of the day know everyone well liao.

too big a group ain't a good idea as well. some may feel left out.

yeah. we want to encourage as many ppl as possible even those shy ones. The objective is to make more friends around here. Those who are naturally outgoing already has tons of friends, so SGC should try to help those who are more shy

if they are really shy than i don't think they will even join.. Club is quite a idea.. but what if only afew turn up? than i think it will be very awkward.. why not start with a small event ? maybe Sentosa or ECP bbq. can plan out some ice-breaking game too..

hard to organise.... have to consider age, time(working and studying and ns)
too many people hard to BBQ, too few people beats the point

then again, night cycling might work
