Shepherd's Pie(Itailian)

For those dont eat beef.. can use boneless chicken breast(Chef's Delights)

Shepherd's Pie

500g Minced Beef (you can buy in cold storage,NTUC Fairprice)
1 cup frozen mixed vegtables(Pea,corn or salad if you want)
A bottle of pasta sauce(Prego Taditional)i use tomato with mushroom
4 Russet Potatoes,peeled and halved
20 g butter
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black or white pepper
1 cup of grated parmesan cheese

To cook simple bolognaise beef

3 tbsp canola oil
1 red onion,chopped
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
A bottle of pasta sauce(Prego Taditional)i use tomato with mushroom
3 tbsp worcestershire sauce

Tips: Add white wine(JC Chardonnary)$6.50 small bottle use 1/2 bottle for cooking(if you want)



1)Heat the oil in a large pan add chopped onion and salt and cook well until onion soften but do not brown.
2)add beef and the rest of ingredients and stir to mix well.
3)Fry until beef is completely cooked through.
4)to taste and adjust seasoning if necessary

To cook Shepherd's Pie

1)When bolognaise beef is cooked, add frozen vegetable and cook for 5 mins.
2)Transfer the beef mixture to pie dish
3)Preheat oven to 180 Celsius
4)To make mashed potato topping.Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with water and bring it to boil for 12 mins (* to test whether potatoes are tender or not.. use FORK to poke)
5)Remove the heat and drain
6)In a large bowl, mash the potatoes and add 20g butter,salt and pepper with potato masher(or use two forks if dun have)*do not overwork or else it will turn gummy
7)Spread the mashed potato over the beef in pei dish to form layer on top
8)Top the potates with grated parmesan cheese before baking
9)Bake in the over for 25 mins.Serve Hot

Tips* For fan-assisted oven,reduce temperature by 20 Celsius.

I do not mean to 2nd guess your recipie, but what the baking temp?
