Do not be deceived by the shop's facade, warned a STOMPer. The shop might appear to be selling mobile phones, but this could also be the shop where fans of pirated software are getting their fix from.
At a glance, this shop along Yishun Ave 5 and Yishun Ring Road looks like a hybrid of a mobile phone shop and a shoe shop.
Signs at the shop front advertise the shop's mobile phone trade, while racks of shoes for sale occupy a side of the shop space. But according to the STOMPer, pirated computer games software and games consoles are displayed on shelves in the shop's interior.
"I was aware of the sale of pirated VCDs on the streets in the past. But I thought that was over with the authorities' raids," said the STOMPer.
This left him wondering if there are any authorities to keep software piracy in check.
"We've got the Anti-Video Piracy Association (AVPA) in Singapore to control piracy on video. But what about organisations to control piracy for PC games and softwares?" he asked.
What the... wats wrong with this person who posted it... i wonder if he ever buy original game before... omg... yishun have not been selling pirated game for like 5 years... and at last, there is a shop...and someone has to destroy it... -_-"

maybe tat person should try buying a ms office... or win xp os... then say if there is a need or not for pirated shop... hate this type of people... act innocent... but he himself also d/l mp3 or movie... dotz

Haha yeah... thats most of the cases... some people just somehow used pirated stuff and didn't even notice that they are using it... like watching tv's online, listening to mp3 online...
sometime d/l can be slow... some no seed so sian... usually people go there to buy is buy those OS or office kind of software... not really game...
example my friend pc got problem, and his Win XP os giving him problem... i brought him down to tat SAME shop to buy another win xp OS... and it work...

oh yea... add afew comment... for that pirated shop, their game is not tat cheap at all... its like 1 dvd game is $12, i can't remember... when i first see the price, i straight away know dun buy the game... but those OS and office stuff still ok and worth it
