Should an adopted child/person still look for his biological parents?

Many of our folks here and abroad have been a part of a family without really having any blood relation to them. They are adopted, sometimes sold by their biological parents, or saved from terrible cases of home abuse.

Whether it be that they have grown in a good family or not, SHOULD AN ADOPTED STILL LOOK FOR HIS BIOLOGICAL PARENTS?

Er.... no i don't think so. It's going to be hard to face your biological parents, knowing that they gave you up due to whatever reasons. It's still hard.

To save the child from emotional distress, it's better if he doesn't look for his biological parents. No matter what the reason was, the fact remains that he was given up and that alone is traumatic enough for a child to bear; how much more if he meets his biological parents and finds that he is still not welcome in their lives?

Frankly, I think it's up to the child whether or not he wants to find them. However, as someone who is adopted, if you do not know why your parents gave you up, I strongly believe you should. I was told at seven years I was adopted, and that kinda made me feel betrayed, like, by both biological and adopted parent(s). You should find your biological parents and find out the truth, no matter how painful. That might help you, as it kinda makes it a clean break/ give you a peace of mind.

Re: Should an adopted child/person still look for his biological parents?

I was adopted and I don't think an adopted child should go looking for the biological parents. First of all, the people who raised me since birth are my parents. Second, my birth mother probably has a life of her own that she doesn't need disrupted by me showing up all these years later.

I know the reason why she gave me up and it was the best decision for me and for her. All I should be doing at this point is silently thanking her and saying a prayer for her well being and happiness.
