Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

I just read this quote from an SP Excellence award recipient: "Don't just focus on your studies." I agree. There are a lot more things to learn outside the classroom.

Jasmine: That's Lavinn. I'm not surprised with that statement. Of course, academics are important but it is also important for students to be well-rounded.

@Dropsoflove: My favorite food stalls in SP are KFC and McDonald's. Now just thinking about it makes me hungry.

Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

I am looking forward to the international internship! I hope I can be an intern in a nice country. I would love to learn about a different culture. Discussions and lectures cannot be as good as actual experience.

Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

Just a piece of trivia: Singapore Polytechnic is the first polytechnic in the country. Also, the course Professional Training in Perfumery and Cosmetic Science sounds very interesting.

Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

Hi lynnieroll! Do tell us more.

One of the events in SP that caught my interest was when some student volunteers went to a person's house, cleaned her house for her, painted the house, and they even left the person with a gift pack. I think it would be fun to participate in such activities and make other people happy.

I think their Escapade event is really cool. It provides a great opportunity for an insight on the SP culture. It is also a great photo opportunity for shutterbugs like me.

Has any of you read the SP blog? I really enjoy reading it and I don't really know why but I always enjoy reading their "What's in your bag?" posts.

@B0red: You will be pleased to know that last September, SP had a creative writing study tour in no less than Melbourne. I know you like writing but if you also like traveling, which I think everybody does, then it turns out to be a better deal for you.

Tanya Chia and ShiGGa Shay - these alumni members are two more reasons why you guys should choose Singapore Polytechnic.

Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

I just love the DMAT Grad Show. It's one BIG party! Diploma in Music and Audio Technology is perhaps the coolest course in Singapore Polytechnic.

I agree. I heard it was a great event and it made me wonder why I never considered taking DMAT before.

Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

I have a question. I have a friend who wants to take Diploma in Nautical Studies in Singapore Polytechnic. However, he has not procured a sponsorship letter yet. He said that such letter from a shipping company is required. Is it possible to enroll even without a sponsorship letter?

Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

I am not really sure since as you have said, it is one of the requirements. I think it will be best to call them at #67721316 just to be sure.

Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

I know there are different SP stalls wherein I can get tea. However, is there any particular stall that you guys would recommend if I want to have the best bubble tea in SP?

Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

I think the best is in Artease Cafe on the Hilltop and of course, the Bubble Tea Shop which is in stall FC6. I love bubble tea too!

I just can't get enough of Strictly Dance Zone! They have everything - mad skills and grace. Do you guys know who I should talk to if I want to invite them in special events?

I don't really know who you're supposed to talk to if you want to invite them to perform in events but you can try their Twitter account at @spsdz.

Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

Oh, I missed that one. I was looking forward to it. My heart is set on going but that was the time when I started going out with my crush. Turns out that it was not worth it. I should have chosen a trip to the 60's. If only I could turn back the hands of time.
