Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

I was there. Totally loved it. It was actually a two-day affair and I visited the exhibit both on January 16 and the 17th. Totally worth it. Sorry you missed it Fanita.

Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

Best. Open house. Ever. I started the open house with a free McDonald's breakfast! All I had to do is prove that I already "liked" their Facebook fan page. Too bad I did not win the iPad mini. Still, it was a very informative and fun-filled day! I am glad that I went there with my friends. They made it even more memorable.

Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

I love SP peeps! I joined a photography contest and won, thanks to SP students who voted for my entry. They were very supportive that they even asked their friends to vote for my photo.

It has now actually been revamped to Applied Chemistry and Materials Science. Yes they touch on physics but as the name suggests obviously chemistry is the core.

Re: The Singapore Polytechnic Discussion Thread

Any advice on whether it's worth it to take advanced dip? Thinking of taking up aerospace.

Why don't you go for a degree instead? The advanced dip is going to take 2 years, which can get you a deg.

I'm surprised it takes 2 years...but a local advanced dip is probably better to lay back on than a degree with fluctuating value.

Can't get into local U and don't trust the stuff they teach in private U...I felt the advanced dip subjects were more relevant.

If the knowledge is important then sure go for it...but in terms of cert recognition it always loses out to a degree, even private.

I think very little...you should look for schools with mass comm if you want to pursue that.
