Sleeping with hair wet...

Sometimes I'm just so bushed that after bathing, I headed to bed and lied down.

Almost without warning, I dozed off.

When I wake up the next morning, the hair is still damp.

I know it ain't good to sleep with wet hair but sometimes, you are just so tired you couldn't care less.

Is there any scientific evidence that sleeping with wet hair isn't good? If so, what are the effects? Does any of you share the same habit?

Oh and I do not blow dry my hair and so I conveniently sleeps with the hair wet. =)

Re: Sleeping with hair wet...

Sleep with wet hair may cause headache, so don't do this often especially for girl.

Re: Sleeping with hair wet...

there is a new product that looks like a blue or pink cotton shower cap, just wear it and press down a few times onto your scalp, your hair will be dry after 10 to 15 minutes depending on your hair length

Re: Sleeping with hair wet...

my mother tells me if you always sleep with your hair wet, when you grow older you might experience headaches more often. it is proven cos she is one of the 'victims'.

Re: Sleeping with hair wet...

I've always been sleeping with my hair wet... Last time got headaches, but now not anymore... I think it's all bull, just some old wives' tale...

Last time I used to get headaches every morning... But it's all due to dehydration... Something like a hangover, when alcohol drains your body of fluids... You lose water through sweat and in your breath when you sleep, but you don't wake up to replenish it when you're thirsty cuz you're sleeping... So when you finally wake up, your body is lacking fluids and this gives a headache...

My headaches ended when I started the practice of drinking 3-4 glasses of plain water right before I sleep, with or without wet hair... Wake up slightly dehydrated, but no headaches...

I think it's all an old wives' tale... Cuz if u have long hair and sleep when it's wet... You'll realized your hair will take the shape of your pillow and it'll become very very difficult to comb it back to straight...
