S'pore car goes missing from JB mall -- but management says CCTV not working, they can't do anything about it
Stomper H's family trip to Aeon Mall in Johor Bahru on Sun (Nov 8) took a turn for the worse when their car, which they parked at the mall's carpark, was missing when they returned from their grocery shopping.

The Stomper said her family arrived at the mall at 10.35am, and parked the black Honda Stream (licence plate number SJC2320D) at the mall's open space carpark before heading inside to do some shopping.

As they visit the mall regularly, they were not expecting their car to be missing when they returned to the carpark after two hours in the mall.

"We immediately reported about our missing car to the customer service, yet they insisted that it was a case of misplace vehicle," said H.

"Their lack of urgency and customer service had cause us to waste precious two hours in their mall office. The manager told us that he would sent patrol cars to 'round' the carpark, insisting that we misplaced our vehicle."

"How is that possible when it was parked along the sheltered area of Aeon Mall's carpark and surrounded by other Singaporean cars? We even remembered the lot where the car was parked at, Lot F."

"After a gruesome wait at the office with no proper help and direction from the manager and his staff, we took matters into our own hands and went to the police station itself."

"We did so because despite persistently asking to see the CCTV footage, the mall staff not only told us that the camera at the exit was not working, they also said 'there is nothing we can do about it'."

"We were truly devastated, stranded and hopeless. Basically I would like to spread awareness among Singaporeans who are regularly go to Aeon Mall at Johor Baru.

"Please, watch your surroundings, especially the car beside you. And be wary of the people in the car. We overlooked our suspicions when the car parked beside ours had a passenger who was acting weird.

"The passenger was constantly staring and wearing shades when car windows were tinted."
