The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) is organized by Singapore Sports Council (SSC) and Singapore Athletic Association (SAA) and sanctioned by the Association of International Marathon and Road Races (AIMS). This premier running event is the highlight of the calendar of running events in Singapore. The event's vision is to develop the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon into a premier running event in Asia and of world class standard.

SINGAPORE: Participation numbers have been going up for the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon. 
But its organisers also want to increase the amount the event will raise for charity.
A record 48,000 runners are expected to pound the streets of Singapore on December 7.
But its organisers are also hoping to raise S$500,000 for charity.
The amount will benefit seven charities under the Community Chest umbrella.
