THE Singapore Tourism Board will be tapping on Visa's vast network to draw more visitors here in the next three years.
It has partnered Visa to promote Singapore and boost visitor spending here.
Millions of Visa cardholders living in three key markets - Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Europe - will soon receive publicity materials extolling Singapore's virtues as a tourist destination. There are 506 million cards in Asia-Pacific alone.
For consumers here, they will enjoy Visa card promotions at events like the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) next year, the Formula 1 night races and the Christmas shopping season.
Visa will be tracking spending and sharing data with STB, which signed a cross-marketing agreement with the payment provider on Wednesday afternoon.
In return, the tourism board will work with Visa to advertise its promotions. Visa has also received exclusive rights for the YOG, where its cards will be the only ones accepted at the Games venues.
Shoppers can also buy event-themed prepaid cards, with the first series rolling out at the Games.
