Default studying medicine overseas

Hi guys,

I am considering studying medicine overseas after i ORD from NS. The countries which i am interested in are: UK, Canada and Australia.

There are many questions in my head as to how to go about applying to the different universities in the different countries. Is there anyone out there who has done research on any on of the countries medicine courses?

a few of the questions im currently finding answers to (filtering through internet forums and websites), perhaps those who know the answers can help post and fill in the blanks? i will post what i find out as soon as i get the relevant information.

-list of unis in UK, CANADA, AUSTRALIA offering medicine degrees recognized in singapore

-where are the education centres for the countries listed located at in singapore?
i know the canadian education centre is at the IBM towers. how about the UK and australia's?

- what are the channels through which to apply? and the deadlines we have to meet (the opening and closing of the channels)?
e.g. like the UCAS through which we apply for UK universities.

-what are the requirements?

e.g ISAT for australia universities
will there be any interviews conducted for the medicine course application?
are there any special requirements? like needing to take triple science?

-costs
perhaps can organize the list of universities in terms of the costs of the medicine course?

i will greatly appreciate help in filling in the blanks, or just pasting links containing the answers as replies.

thanks.

Hello skw,

I am currently studying medicine and surgery in Australia. The Singapore Medical Council website shows the list of registrable medical degrees from overseas. I can't post the link, my apologies.

I believe IDP is the agent to go through when applying for further studies in Australia.

Vince Disel added 3 Minutes and 12 Seconds later...

Most Australian Unis require ISAT, but Uni of Adelaide requires the PQA test instead. You can also opt to take the UMAT but in my opinon, it is more expensive and you have to compete with the local students.

I'm bumping my posts to 10 so I can post the links for you.
