Do you think animals in Singapore receive enough attention?
I feel that animals in Singapore can receive MORE attention. It's just whether Singaporeans are willing or not. I feel that we should spread the message and educate more Singaporeans. As compared to other countries, Singapore have the ability to become a more animal-friendly country. Like I said, it's just whether we want to.
Do you think the problem of animal abuse is taken seriously in Singapore? Explain your answer.
To an extent. Nothing is perfect anyway. There's always room for improvement. Organizations can be more efficient, AVA should address more to such issues better, etc. If we all work together, I'm sure we can tackle this problem.
What do you think can be done to address the issue of animal abuse?
As I've said before, education. Schools can educate students from a young age about animal abuse. They educate them on cyber bully, strangers, why not animals? It's a life nevertheless. Thus, we should all educate our future generations. Also, organizations such as the SPCA can organize more talks with the public and maybe even working together with CCs to reach to the public and educate them. By raising awareness, it already saves some lives.
What’s your take on animal abuse?
It's a very disgusting act. "Pick someone of your own size." Only a coward would pick a defenseless puppy for an opponent. People should not take it as they own this world. Without animals, we would be deprived of many things. This world was meant to be shared. So to all animal abusers out there: Get a life.
(This is purely my own opinion.)
