Sweet Pork Adobo

Here's my very easy version of Pork Adobo. ^^

Cooking/Preparation Time: 30-45 minutes
Estimated Servings: 4-6

Ingredients:
¾ kilo pork (separate the fatty part)
1 dozen quail eggs (hard-boiled)
227g Pineapple tidbits, in can
½ cup soy sauce
3-4 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 medium size of onion, chopped
1/4 cup Oyster Sauce
Pepper and salt to taste

Instructions:

1. Cook the fatty part of the pork in a frying pan over low-heat fire, until its original oil comes out and the pork becomes crispy. Don’t forget to pour at least 1/8 cup of water and sprinkle with salt.
Option:
I always use the natural oil from meat fats whenever I sauté, but you can also use cooking oil or margarine.
Tip:
Most people are so scared of deep frying. I suggest pouring small amount of water over the pan before you turn around the food you are frying.

2. Once the natural oil completely comes out and the fats become cripy; set aside the pork in the pan, but do not remove them. Start sautéing your ingredients following this order: garlic, onion, pork (meat part), soy sauce, oyster sauce, and pepper.
Option:
The garlic is crushed from this recipe, but some people may want to have them chopped instead. There are also some who include the skin of the garlic, since it’s also tastier.
Tip:
I normally smell the food I cook to determine whether it’s too salty or not. I suggest that you adjust the ingredients depending on your taste.

3. Pour the pineapple juice from the Pineapple tidbits after 5-7 minutes.
Option:
If you don’t like pineapple juice, you can replace it with lemon, or vinegar.
Tip:
You can add salt to taste if you find it too sweet.

4. Let it simmer for another 5-10 minutes, or until the pork becomes tender.
5. Put the hard-boiled quail eggs, and some pineapple tidbits before you remove the frying pan from the stove.

Re: Sweet Pork Adobo

^ That is an easy recipe. You'll never until you try it. That was the first dish that I learned; I mean the typical adobo, then I just did a few experiments a few years after leaning how to cook.

I also didn't know how to cook, till I reached my early 20s. Heheheh
