The Media World

hm... well... according to my friends, they quoted "media? the world of back stabbers"

well... i think thats quite true, but i dunno where i get that idea from, i guess its the rumours and news of various newspaper reports and etc?

i was hoping to get into the media world after NS and after i get a universitiy degree, preferably to be in taiwan as thats a country i've been yearning to go to

i harbour no hopes of being a host like jacky wu, or even artist in any form as i am no good in entertainning, i'd rather be behind the scenes, doing things from behind the camera or in a studio production crew

but my main point... or rather, question is, wad are the opportunities of media in singapore and taiwan?

it will be good if u can gain some part time experience b4 while studying. eg. crew in an entertainment coy, where they do company functions, social events and etc.

preferably degree in mass comm.

can join as asst producer or planner etc. working hours will be long, starting salary might not be high...

Getting into the media in taiwan will be much more easier and more opportunties than in singapore.

Taiwan area is big and it is easy to have alot of opportunties for you to showcast your works/whatever.

I also want to be a celebrity in taiwan when I grow up xD~

u mentioned "i was hoping to get into the media world after NS and after i get a universitiy degree". dats y i suggest u take up part time job in events coy and a mass comm degree. if not, a mass comm dip.

short term job also good. events coy they do a lot of sound system and etc, so is beneficial to learn abt the equipment.

ya, taiwan popn much bigger then sg and opportunities more also... but dun forget, competition more too.

if u really want to, start your preparation job now. not only on your singing/acting/hosting skills, also on self presentation, etiquette, knowledge of the entertainment industry, the impt pple in front and behind the scene, your command of language and etc.

erm.. actually, i dun wanna be a celebrity, wahahaha, i wanna be like the media coordinator, planning schedules and events for the celebrity, or producer and etc...

i have no wish to go infront of the camera, and thinking that starting from scratch like being a PA for some celebrity or managers, or maybe even a small logistic helper will do fine in the beginning, and work my way up

gonna be difficult yea >.< but thats my goal :biggrin4: wish me luck... in like... 6 years advance of luck? LOL
