hello xiao xue. first of all, welcome to SGC.. seemed like you posted 2 threads abt promoting the magic workshop so fast.

secondly, i think magic only spices up a lil part of dating. personally, magic will bores me after some time.
i think the communication between both parties is the main importance of what spices up the relationship.
yeah. hmm magic is abit laotu for ppl to use to "ba mei" lol.

i admit talking skills are impt in dating also... cos tok tok sweet things, girls like mah!

but i think also quite gd la to mix n match different things like.. funny jokes, magic, deep conversations for tots etc

i am still learning coin tricks as of now and little tricks like this are very good for ice breaking and the such.

gives you an edge as you'll be able to attract some attention.

anyway i think you may have posted this in a wrong section. maybe you may want to pm a mod to help you move this.

Sorry, but i think magic tricks abit very 'act' lehs. I mean, in a relationship, magic tricks can only go so far. But it can show you the sincerity a guy is, going through the efforts to learn such tricks to impress his girl.

ANyway to the TS, i agree to a certain extend that magic is fun and it will add life to a date. It is just creating a topic for you n your partner to talk about. Well if you are in a relationship, things that keep it going is that both of you always will have some common topic to talk about, to discuss, and magic is definitely one way of exploring. Personally, i like magic a lot n i always wan to learn, but somehow i didnt. >.< Maybe i have a suggestion over here, y not you check the interests of this sgcouting section see whether if there is a lot of interested ppl like me in magic, den maybe you can consider organising one magic outing, that will be super super cool. One of a kind.

Hello there Xiao Xue. I chanced upon your website in your signature and became quite skeptical about whether you're female to start with.

If you're trying to get responses from ladies, i guess you're getting more male replies instead.

If males happen to be your target audiences, good luck.

Any the case, back to the topic. Looking at your website, i'd say that you're pretty convince that magic can be a great pick up technique. Many PUAs may agree.

I personally think that magic allows for easy approach. But that may not necessary mean that its a good one. Many at times it turns people off. Why so?

I've been a performer for a couple of years. The psychology behind Magic is so profound that mere hobbyist may not comprehend.

Magic effects should never be done to prove your worth. That itself screws up your date. The problem with most magicians is how eager they may be to show off their skills. Many at times magicians learn tricks through dvds available from Ellusionist.com, or at Penguin magic. Of course there are other similar sites for these. The problem with these DVDs is that it'd lead the magician into specific kind of presentation style which does not appeal to the general females. Having said that, with proper guidance, magic COULD make you have an edge above the rest.

Finally, i'd like to add that card tricks in particular will be a turn off. Partly because it looks "over prepared" and people naturally relate cards to trickery.

I think if the girl isn't impressed by your natural behavior and having to resort to 'magical tricks' to get their attention would strongly suggest that these aren't the girls you are looking for in the first place.

The best magic trick is to drive a ferrari :p
