Two-pronged attack: Lady Gaga wears leather hat with pair of horns as she heads to Carlisle for Radio 1's Big Weekend

Her headwear has previously included a jewelled lobster and famously a telephone - now Lady Gaga has stepped out with a rather kinky hat featuring leather studded horns.

The Born This Way star was seen wearing the titfer that was part Viking helmet, part S&M gear and part jester's hat, as she left her London hotel to head up to Cumbria for her headlining performance tonight at Radio 1's Big Weekend festival in Carlisle.

Her look was completed with a long black dress embellished with gold chains and large crucifixes and a matching gold-studded leather jacket.

Leather lady: Lady Gaga was spotted wearing a leather studded hat with horns as she left her London hotel to head to Carlisle for Radio 1's Big Weekend, which she headlines today

Earlier, wearing yet another outfit, the star had dished out fancy cookies to her fans waiting outside the hotel.

She was wearing the sheer animal print leggings she'd worn for her secret gig on Thursday night at London private members' club Annabel's with a bright gold jacket and huge necklace.

As previously revealed by Mail Online, the star was also interviewed by Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts for her TV presenting debut for MTV later this month.

Approach with caution: One of the star's fans appears to lean forward for a kiss - while being careful not to get kebbabed by the horns and studs

Meanwhile, it's also emerged today that the star, who also calls herself Mother Monster and her fans Little Monsters, has become the first celebrity to fly past the 10million followers mark on Twitter.

She wrote yesterday: '10 Million Monsters! I'm speechless, we did it! It's an illness how I love you. Leaving London smiling.'

The star releases new single Hair tomorrow, after going to No. 1 last week with track Edge Of Glory, as well as releasing the video for new single Judas this week.

Fan friendly: Gaga, who famously adores her followers, signed autographs for her many admirers as she left to head for Cumbria

Yesterday, Radio 1's Big Weekend festival saw performances from the likes of Nicole Scherzinger, Black Eyed Peas, Foo Fighters and Jessie J, and tonight's line-up features My Chemical Romance and Taio Cruz before Mother Monster graces the stage.

Today has already seen performances from The Script, The Strokes, Katy B, Professor Green, Bruno Mars and Olly Murs on the second day of Europe's biggest free ticketed music festival.

Another 20,000 fans were expected through the gates again today at Carlisle Airfield on what has been a rather grey, cold and wet day so far - perhaps the reason for Gaga's more covered-up than usual appearance...

However, she was back to her usual skimpy stage gear when she wowed the crowd with her headlining set.
