Types of food we may want to limit in order to lose weight

In the previous articles, i talk about what we should eat to stay healthy and lose weight, in this articles i am going to further discuss the types of food we should limit ourselves in order to lose weight and stay healthy.

The first food we need to limit is fast food. Fast Food contains too much sugar, saturated fats, cholesterol and fat. Most fast food products have very little to offer in terms of complex carbohydrates, protein, fibre, essential fatty acid. An average fast food contains 1000 calories or more and many times fast food is consumed with a bad combination with soft drinks. This will make you put on weight and become fat very fast. However i understand that sometimes for busy people like us Singaporeans, eating fast food is the best choice if you have very little time for your meal. So what i suggest is to limit fast food to once a week and not more if you are serious about weight loss.

The second kind of food we may want to limit is processed food. One example is Can Food. Processed food is known to be high in preservatives, which are harmful to the body. The whole process of cooling, pasteurization, dying and other techniques of food processing have increase the shelf-life of the food that would otherwise spolit right away. However these processed have also change its nutrient content, as they removed its vitamins and minerals from the food itself. Processed food is also known to contains a lot of harmful component like tran-fat, which caused a lot of cardiovasular diseases.

The third kind of food i believe we must limit is is cakes, ice cream and chocolate. This is especially true for people who are inactive and just love to sit and sleep while watching their favourite TV shows. Some people do it for hours just sitting there eating. The sugar and fat that you consumed tends to be store as fat because you are inactive and this will help you gain weight in the long run. Also please reduce your intake of potatoes chip. Many people can sit watching their favourite TV programs for hours and eating potatoes chip. However please know that potatoes chip are high in fat, high in sodium and it will help you gain weigh easily.

Do limit your intake of alcohol too. Yes i know alcohol is not a food, but it contains calories as well. The problems when we consumed alcohol, our body tends to preferentially burn them over other calories. When our body is too busy getting rid of the alcohol, other food get stored away as fat in our body. So do limit your intake of alcohol

Also one important thing i need to add here is to limit your intake of salt. Please understand salt is a very important element, and if we do not consume enough our health will be affected. However do understand that if we consume too much, it will cause health problems like high blood pressure…etc. That why it is so important we eat fresh food and not consume so much of processed food.

fast food is the main culprit for obesity, they will pile up the pounds fast if u take them regularly. For teens once or twice a wk is still ok since their metabolism is still quite high but for working adults its best to eliminate them completely from ur meals or only indulge in them occasionally.

Carbs is my big thing that causes me to gain weight. I'm actually trying to cut out non-organic foods as well because the estrogen in those chemicals and pesticides on foods messes with my hormones.
