What is the Atkins Diet?

Hey...
Basically The Atkins diet is a low-carbohydrate diet invented by Robert Atkins as a result of his scientific analysis to lose weight.
It is on the basis of a high protein / low carbohydrate diet in order to lose a considerable amount of weight in a short period of time.

Good way to lose weight is to eat less more meal and work out

According to the Atkins theory, if the body keeps on making "too much" insulin -- as it tries to deal with the "excess" sugar -- it may become less responsive to insulin and eventually may develop the metabolic disorder, diabetes. The Atkins theory states that this should properly be called "unstable blood sugar" since the blood sugar level rises and then drops quickly.

I thought I would be able to do the Atkins Diet, because you still get to eat lots of good food. But I couldn't make it through the first week! I don't know why, but that "induction" is really no joke.

pls consult yr doc first..everything needs to be in moderation....if u go on a zero carb n especially eat too much red meat u will be in trouble too..read the link & a portion which i cut & paste...if u google Robert Atkins it will also tell u that he has had a heart attack b4 although he claimed it was not connected to his method of diet...if u were to just think bout it..would it make sense that u can eat OD on meat n skip the carbo & still be relatively healthy in e long run? If u skip the carbo, u really need to eat a lot more of meat to keep full rite... Atkins diet is written by an ang moh...compare the difference between a normal ang moh n an asian & see their usual diets...ang moh can eat steak everyday n be fine, asians eat steak everyday & will end up in a wheelchair cuz of stroke or heart attacks..if u got family history of certain illness like collestrol or high blood eating too much of such stuff would really have a bad affect on u..

1 way to lose weight in a gd matter would be to have more regular but small meals in a day...for eg. oat biscults for breakfast, a glass of milk, lean white meat n veggie n rice for lunch, fruits for tea, lean meat n veggie for dinner (u wan u can skip the carbo) & fruits or milk for yr after dinner...spilt each meal up by 2-3 hrs or so n u get 5-6 meals a day..this gives u a well balanced diet n increases yr metabolic rate...of cuz u need to exercise too...

If you guys like to exercise, This diet is not recemmended at all as it could affect your performance, since physical activity involves usage of carbs.
