Why is exercise important?

To stay healthy, beside having a balanced diet, it is important that we exercise. Exercise is one of the best way to loss weight and to prevent any health risk that is associated with obesity. Exercise not only help us loss weight and stay happy, it also help us lead happier and more fulfilling life. Let me give you a few benefits on why you must exercise

(1) Exercise will help us minimize the risk of chronic diseases like heart attack and diabetes. Heart attack and diabetes are caused by a poor diet and lack of exercise. So by exercising you will prevent this diseases happening to you

(2) Exercise increase your metabolism and in turn help you burn more fat and calories. By burning more fats and calories, you will not only loss weight, but you will also stay healthy.This is essential to maintain a good body weight.

(3) Regular exercise will also help us relieve stress and help us sleep more soundly. Exercise is a healthy way to work off frustration and anger, It increased circulations to the brain for clearer thinking. This will enable that we are able to function well in every area of our life. It gives us a balanced lifestyle.

(4) Exercise keep our heart and body healthy, by strengthen our heart and cardiovasular system. It improve your blood circulation and help your body use oxygen better. This give the body more energy and enable the cardiovascular system to function better

(5) Exercise strengthen your bones and prevent bone related diseases like osteoporosis. This is especially important for senior citizens whose bone tends to grow weaker due to the ageing process. So exercise especially weight training can help strengthen your bones

(5) Lastly exercise help us increased our self-esteem. Running a full marathon race or hiking a mountain give us a sense of accomplishment and happiness. This help us in our social life as well as many of us enjoy the camaraderie and fellowship of doing sports with close friends and love ones.

Remember there is no pill or slimming program that can equal the benefits of exercise. Given the benefits from exercise, you cannot afford not to exercise. So stay today. What are you waiting for?

I exercise to keep my heart healthy. I used to have a hard time breathing because my heart is very weak. When I started exercising, I became healthier and I can enjoy outdoor activities with my friends.

I always want to/have the motivation to exercise but everytime I do it, always feel like giving up

the starting part is always the hardest, maybe u could find the type of exercise u would like doing first.

Some things can not be understood because some things can only be felt.You will feel this reality and the benefit after the age of 40.So friends make this your habit to do exercise.

Hi everyone, thanks for your comment. To those who wants to give up. Dun worry. I understand how you feel. Do not feel sad, even if at times you give up and did not do your exercises. Try to get up again. For me i recommend exercises sessions of about 30 mins. But do not despair if you cannot reach that target. Even for beginners a 10 mins brisk walk is a good start. Please do not despair. Try harder. Dun give up. You be better as the time goes on

Everybody can do some form of exercises. If you cannot do tough exercises, just do light exercises

yes exercising is really important for both body and mind. A healthy body means healthy mind and vice versa. And ofcourse you can protect yourselves from the most dreadful diseases and disorders by regular exercising.

Exercise is like a oiling in engine to remove friction. Exercise is important to maintain our body just like oil is important for engine..

i just did a jog from Hougang to Seng Kang for dinner, and back again, and i feel so cui ! But good start i guess ! Jogging + Walking + Brisk walking . Might enjoy it after a few days .
