Default Why NuffNand Sucks. Advertisers perspective

I am used to seeing a lot of local blogs use Nuffnang ads. I also notice this because I dont see much of ads. I only see the bloody Nuffnang logo 90% of the time.

The ads ALSO seem to be irrelevant, maybe because there are not enough advertisers or whatever.

Now I use bidvertiser, adbrite and google adwords to advertise. I use some smaller networks on and off.

I have a simple non-profit website made ONLY FOR SINGAPORE. So I am not getting good value for money because they (Google, adbrite etc.) send a lot of White noise traffic. Which is mostly non-singapore traffic even though I am targeting SG. Now my site http://www/Adstoday.asia is really just for fun website. I dint want it spammed by brazillian hookers so I setup a simple way to block non-singapore visitors from signing up all together.
Long story short... the return has not been good. The clicks are from random countries most of the time. The keyowords are irrelevant to my beautiful country. So I think
HEY LETS TRY NUFFNANG.

turns out nuffnang only is easy for bloggers to sign up. Advertisers ...? **** no info!!! you have to send enquiry form WTF? No sign up forms, no registration. No facts and figures on the cost. No wonder all they get is Singapore Tourism board to advertise. One size fits all.

I am sticking to my 1 cent per click google adsense, transparent, on your face, and at least you can start right away without the hassle.

its just a shroud of mystery which a lot of asian companies dont get over. Hide the actual cost and beat around the bush. I have not even received any further reply on my enquiry except that they "have forwarded it to the business dept". watever the frack that is.

Successful business models in retail has been built in asia using the same transparency that is seen everywhere from giants like Google to small timers like text-link

Great concept soiled for nothing.

I think its time i launch a FREE service for advertisers and bloggers. I have most of everything I need. Just need enough people to volunteer and sign up to try. Anybody on board?

I am thinking of an advertising platform where in advertisers and bloggers can come together. This way advertisers can connect directly to blogs and advertise. Good for bloggers as they earn revenue and good for advertisers since they can see transparently the bids and prices.

I dont like the fact that nuffnang hides their pricing and delivery. Not to mention they never responded to requests. It seems they are like the new food stall that opened near my place. See the face an then put whatever price. No listing and pricing.

It would be much easier for me to advertise in Straits times!!!

Oh, so is it like pay per click kind of advertisement?

The site is just a platform whereby we allow bloggers and advertisers to meet. To make the connection for them. Thereafter, advertiser will make the arrangement with bloggers to post their ads with them?

Yes, you have about got it. I am still working on specifics. It would be possible for advertisers to use a basket of blogs and advertise quickly.
Where advertising is not available bloggers can still fallback to default ad networks unlike nuffnang where all you get is a nuffnang logo :-/

Agreed. my company paid nuffnang ads for both singapore and malaysia bloggers and we had very few click throughs. And the results were dismal. Stick to Google Adwords but you may need to work hard to get the quality clicks, which are little and may not be sufficient for you.

falconer, thanks for your response. Its worth it because you are someone who has gone through the whole experience so your word counts a lot.

I wanted to start a platform for Bloggers and advertisers to come together using something existing. So we can target local blogs as advertisers and bloggers benefit from relevant ads. But the response is very bleak in singapore for most things so I am not sure if its worth spending time on this.
