Why are Thai people so polite and friendly?

I have to admit every time I go to Thailand, I'm impressed by the courtesy, politeness and friendliness of Thai people. They will smile at you and say "sawa deekap".

I have to admit that Thai people are more polite and friendlier than Singaporeans.

Why are Thai people so polite and friendly ? Is it part of the Thai culture?

Sir, what do you reply when they say ''Sawadee Krup'' to you ?
My friend always say ''Khorb Khoon Krup'' (thank you) when I say to him ''Sawadee Krup''

Anyway, it is their culture.

Now, where has Peuan Sanit gone to ? He will give you a better answer.

Finally, it is night time, so ... Kin Khao Laew Mai ?

Its bcos of their culture and upbringing since young.

Ppl will never block your way on their BTS or Subway. They give up their needs to the more needy without being told so or signages.

They don't drink or eat on the BTS ot Subway.

oooo icic, i've almost never studied much other cultures before, seems like we have much to learn,

btw "Japs" is a derogatory term used during the previous world war,
i heard that it is considered a vulgarity, or something like that?

I don't think so, Jap is actually short form for Japanese.

Yup Boon Guai or Lo But Tao (Cantonese) referringto Japs more derogatory in my opinion.

Jap is an English abbreviation of the word "Japanese." Today it is regarded as an ethnic slur, though English-speaking countries differ in the degree they consider the term offensive. In the United States, Japanese Americans have come to find the term controversial or offensive, even when used as an abbreviation.[1] In the past, Jap was not considered primarily offensive; however, after the events of World War II, the term became derogatory.

Like that how to come to Thailand?

Mai Sabaai does not mean "Not happy", it mean "Not Well" so Mai Sabaai in this case means "I am not feeling well".

Pom Pem Wat Dai Mee Khai = I have caught a cold and is having a fever.
