Uh i thought punk rock is a seperate genre from emo?
As emo speaks i believe it's the negative lyrics that makes it.
Depressing lyrics or screamo can be part of it. | |

One of my favourite bands Automatic Loveletter classified themselves as "emo". But I think they are quite alright, more pop/rock? www.myspace.com/automaticloveletter

nowadays, people make such a big fuss about the word "emo" and there's so many definitions for the word. what started of as a music genre became a stereotype and then people just abuse the word a lot of the time. just read someone's blog and the word is probably mentioned at least once. it's so overrated imo.
anyway if u want emo bands, hear sunny day real estate, the get up kids etc. and no, good charlotte, simple plan and my chemical romance can hardly be classified as emo...good charlotte and simple plan are like pop-punk. | |
