I use WordPress to build my blog, it only taks me 5 minutes to build my website. Yes, 5 minutes!!! It looks like so neatly. and it is very easy to change different themes

Oh, hey! I didn't know you were Singaporean. Haha! That aside... Yes, I'd agree with you but I doubt anyone would believe you because your blog has been around since June 2005 but it's okay, I'll back you up.

Nowadays there's many options that can allow one to create a good (as in around your blog's standard) blog within minutes.
Personally I still prefer to use Blogspot.. Can customize and mainly cos I've been using it for years.. More familiar with it.
What's with this thread anyway? It's not like Wordpress is a new thingy or what.. Trying to increase traffic to your blogs izzit? So naughty.. Haha!

We're not talking about WordPress.com, my dear. We're talking about wordpress.org
It's a standalone blogging software that you can install in your own domain. So for people like me and tig_ho, because we have our own domain and hosting, we use wordpress and we have better flexibility.
No one said blogspot isn't good but with own hosting, we don't need photobucket, imeem or even youtube. We can just upload to our own site and everything will be downloaded directly from there instead of other sites and that will cause your page load to take a little longer.

About the 5 minutes part, it's because of Fantastico. Another software domain holders get from the hosting. Last time, you'd have to take quite a while to install WordPress because you have to create your own database and upload the wordpress files via FTP.

i can create wordpress on a self-hosted site in less than 1 min without fantastico. seriously easy. two or three clicks and its done.

Yup.. Self hosted blog can do more wonders like uploading plugins etc.. However, have to pay for the hosting fees in return

huh? who doesnt know wordpress???? o.0 it may be possible... anyway there are at least 20 free software that can
do everything you wanted to do online.
The major hurdle is installing and managing these software. I have a bulk hosting and reseller plan in U.S. The way it works is like this.
The person who signs up just calls us or emails us as to what they want. if they say "blog" ok we install for them, everything is automatic. The install is one-click install on your backend.
Even the user who signed up can do it themselves. But may need basic knowledge of web software. Once installed, the users tell me, its usually very easy to play around and figure things out from the admin control panel.
If they got issues they just email us and ask if they cannot google it.
the entire hosting + software + unlimited space + traffic all cost like 4 SGD per month without domain name. We don't resell domains liah, there already so many good deals out there. some more domains should be free of your web hosting company, otherwise if you want to change web hosting company it will be troublesome. We have helped people switch away from our host. transfer domain etc. when they go for Private servers. nice to see some people grow really big with 12,000 hits in a day for their sites.
also google for Drupal, Joomla, Zencart, CakePHP (for geeks)
